Life Manor Parkside

We recently toured Life Manor Parkside, and we like how it's kind of central to stores, banks, doctors, and dentists. It's close and within walking distance. You don't really need to drive. They provide shuttles, so if you do need to take a ride somewhere, wherever you need to go, they have certain days that they take their residents there. It was friendlier than a couple of the other places that we visited. The gal took us on the tour through the facility, and the people that we ran into, the other residents, seemed happy, and they were friendly as well. My mom liked that. A pretty large window in the room overlooks a little bit of some scenery. They said that they do barbecues and stuff in the summer, that's free, out in their little lawn area. The parking was good. There were some things that I particularly didn't really like. I asked the lady if there was any crime, and she said that they do have issues with people coming in and doing what she says, "smash and grabs," where people's vehicles get broken into, and stuff gets stolen out of cars. So that was kind of the one thing that threw up a red flag for me. But she said that they have security and stuff that drives through the parking lot, so that helps a little bit. They were welcoming, pretty upfront, and easily explained the whole process, how it works, and the pamphlet that they gave us pretty much gives you a step-by-step on what you need to bring with the application and how they run their process, the background check. Everything was pretty upfront and forward and really easy to follow. The facility was clean because in some of the other places that we visited, there were certain odors, like garbage odors. But Life Manor was well maintained. I didn't see any litter out in the parking lot or around the building. The carpets were vacuumed, and the windows were really clean. It's pretty nice.

I love living here! The staff as well as the residents are all very nice! There is free storage as well as cable and phone. The one bedroom apartments are spacious and I love the fact that the laundry is open 24/7! I never felt so secure as I do now! A lot of activities as well as our own shuttle to take you to your favorite store as date is designated for. We have a monthly newsletter that tells you about your activities on a calendar! Come play Bingo on Friday nights!
