My overall experience with River Run is pretty good. The atmosphere is nice, and the people here are pretty friendly. My apartment has a stove and stuff, and they don’t have a dining room. If you’re looking for a place with a very good atmosphere, this would be it.

I gave them 1 star based on the apartment renting process. I visited the apartment, liked it and paid application fee for my credit and background checks. After some time, they both came back and cleared me to continue the process. I purchased the $99 money order to hold THE APARTMENT, filled it out, asked which apartment it would be and was told by PROPERTY MANAGER “Oh, we don’t actually give you a specific apartment.” I said “that’s CRAZY, the brochure states that the $99 is to hold the apartment. She said, “We have apartment #. I saw the apt. liked it and finished the process. The next morning, I completed paperwork for Compliance. I was given a list of things needed. I emailed those back the same day. A week later, I had not heard anything, I called to check status. No news! Another week went by, I was told that Compliance sent it back for some corrections and it would be about another week. 2 weeks later I got an email from the LEASING AGENT who stated Compliance had sent it back for corrections, he was out of the office because it was being painted and new floors installed. Another week, I emailed and asked for a timeframe when it would be completed by Compliance and if it wasn’t going to be in the next couple of days, how do I go about getting my $99 hold fee back. Got an email 10 minutes later with a list of about 10 things that Compliance needed and last line saying, “I was not eligible to get the $99 back because 72 hours has passed since I applied.” That was on Tuesday of this week. The items that they were requesting were very personal items that anyone could use to create new ID in my name. Before I even gave 2nd thought to sending the items, I called my daughter, who is an Attorney and she even said the items should not been requested to rent an apartment. Today I received overnight mail, the ORIGINAL MONEY ORDER I gave to them for the apartment. How? Because I contacted a person in authority and explained what I have said here. I stated that I didn’t want the apartment and that I just wanted my money back. Well I got it back in overnight mail and have learned a valuable lesson from all this. The lesson I learned is that I’m old, not dumb and I do not and will not allow anyone to take advantage of me!!! This is the biggest issue older people face, someone trying to get over.

We did a walkthrough at River Run and the lady we met was very nice and let us see an apartment. It was fairly small without a lot of room, and it was not something that my mother-in-law liked. She could not afford it. The calendar had a lot of activities, and residents really enjoyed doing them.

I liked River Run better. The rooms were spacious, the place was clean, and you have access to things. The other one was too far away. This one, I was even impressed. The bus comes into the place to pick up people. They have a sitting area and 2 parking areas -- one was indoor, and the other was outdoor. The staff was nice. The residents looked happy and were having a conversation in the hallway.

They didn’t offer anything at River Run Senior Living Community other than rooms and activities. I saw a nice two-bedroom with a small kitchen. You could sign up to go to Walmart and places like that. There wasn't a dining area; you did your own dining in your own kitchen. There weren't many amenities, but they offered coffee and things like that down in the lobby. They just played bingo, cards, board games, and things like that. The people we talked to were nice and friendly. It’s a much older place. The residents I saw down in the lobby were very nice and seemed happy that they were there.

I liked River Run. I liked the cleanliness and the way it was run. It was affordable for my budget; plus, they have different amenities and stuff. The staff is very friendly and cordial; they gaveme the information I needed. The grounds looked very well-kept, very well put together, and as far as I know, very clean. I told already told my friends about it.

I moved in to River run. They have a nice facility and a gym; I love it. I liked best the location and secure living. The people working there are okay.
