Derby Green Nursing Home

We looked at several facilities in the area before deciding on Derby Green for my mother who is in the end stages of Alzhiemer's Disease. When you visit Derby Green you can almost forget you are in a nursing home. The atmosphere is very homey and not at all sterile. Some other nursing homes we looked into smelled of urine, and sterilizer. When I entered Derby Green I smelled fresh food cooking. My mother loves the food there and especially the fact that meal times are individualized since she is a late riser. The nursing staff and aides are always kind to my mother and see to all of her needs without hesitation. The one thing that I do not like about the facility is the size. It is a small facility and only a limited number of recreational activities indoors. However, they do make an effort to have outings whenever possible when weather allows. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.
