Sandhills Nursing and Rehabilitation

Dad was at Sandhills Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was there for skilled nursing, but he sure did not receive it. The only thing I liked about it was that it is in the community where I live. I didn't have to travel to go visit him, but I can tell you that they put him to bed rest and he developed blood clots and pneumonia, and that's essentially what killed him. They had a resident that was bitten by a rattlesnake while she was in her bed sleeping at night. They were cutting the resident's fingernails and they cut him so bad that he had to have stitches on his fingers. They are terrible. There's a hazard at the front door. I slipped on the sidewalk out front because it was very slippery when it was wet. It's just not a good facility. They had bingo every day, but my dad couldn't go because they made him stay in bed. I think there's about six out of the whole 40 something residents that would go. My dad was on Medicare, but we paid exactly the same amount for a beautiful medical resort as what we paid for this crap out here.
