Two of my aunts were residents of this facility 10 to 15 years ago. The first aunt went into care while she was recovering from a broken hip. She was 74 at the time. She was there only a week or two when she died suddenly. Family members were convinced it was because of poor quality of care. While there, her health declined rapidly. The second aunt became a resident while recovering from a fall. She was also in good health otherwise. She was also very proactive concerning her own care, and made it a point to know all the staff names and what treatments she got,as well as medications. She lived in the residence for over a year before succumbing to pneumonia. She was 93. In my opinion, she received better care. In the time between their residency, there was an internal investigation and general shake up of policies and practices in the residence. I believe there was negligence involved in my first aunt's death.
