I have read your story about your family member. We can relate as a family for we have had many family member and friends in this center. The medication errors are a big concern. When visiting the family member/friend why would they be soooo stinky, dirky fingernail, and soooo agitated. It is now under new management and our concern is more than ever. The staff is unprofessional, rude, there clothing is revealing, and once again when we visit they are all behind the station talking. I recently went up to visit and all the doors were locked and could not get in. We have talked to other family members that have a loved one in the center to see how they feel. We were told that they even took there concerns through the board members and no action was taken. This told us as a family that we need to take action of our own which sounds like you have too. Good luck and WE hope that all is well with your family member.

We placed our loved one in Springfield Assisted Living Center about 5 years ago. It was great then. Past several months changes in staff and the way the facility is now being run, made for a near fatal experience. Not at all as nice as it had been. Expensive items missing from there room, was Verbaly abused, mistreated,Neglected, Personal information and confidential records shared with others..publicly and privately...became pure horror. Our Loved one mysteriously got very ill, health went downhill with no explenations. Several times was given wrong medications and when we reported incidents, there was retaliated upon them. Instead of fixing the errors or dealing with problems with there employees, they covered up each incident and when we pushed for something to be done..retaliation became a daily issue on our poor family member.. they demoralized, embarrassed, harrased and emotionally abused them and made awful, humiliating accusations against not just our loved one, but our family because we stepped in and demanded action against incompetent caregivers. So if considering sending someone you love to this facility..beware,..make sure you watch closely and communicate with your loved one daily on there care. Very scarey how this turned out for our family member. It was made very clear to us that the residents are not first and foremost of upper managements concerns..but more for employees and friends who work together there. All cover up for there mistakes ..mistakes that almost killed our loved one. We feel lucky and blessed that we got our family member out of there alive! We later found out we were not the only family to suffer. After we got our family member out, we found out others had been thrown out, passed away or begged for there family to find them other places to live. The Medication errors are such a huge concern..could cause many of the new illnesses these residents are all of the sudden suffering from..as well as death. I feel they should rethink there new administrator/director as well as some of the aides working there who are untrained or just dont care about these people. Rather then correct the mistakes..they cover them up. We were lucky to obtain proof of such abuse. Save yourself the headache and worry..we had to hire lawyers..now have a ton of new medical bills because of the mystery illnesses secondary to mismedication and neglect. BEWARE.
