This is an eight bed memory care unit that is very intimate and homey feeling. It is adjacent to an Assisted living facility that provides oversight and meals to the facility. The administration is also shared. The caregivers display an enormous amount of care, gentleness and patience to the residents and work hard to keep everyone happy and things running smoothly for the residents. Each residents particular needs are noted and met by the outstanding staff. A RN checks on each resident weekly and administers shots and oversees medication distribution. She also refers patients to their doctor of record or the local clinic if need arises. There are activities presented occasionally geared toward the residents level of function. The facility is always clean and decorated appropriately for the season. A general sense of peacefulness and order presides. Families are welcome at all times and able to interact with all residents. Families are also allowed to decorate the resident's room with furniture/accessories from home to make the room a cozy and familiar place for the resident. Furniture is also provided if the family does not wish to supply any. My mother resided in the Assisted Living facility until her memory became such that the memory care was a better choice for her. The segue to memory care was efficient and an uneventful transition. Our family is very grateful that our mother is able to stay in the community that she has lived in for over 65 years.
