My sister moved to Edgewood Grand Forks, a 55+ community. We chose it for her because it was very close to a major hospital and to her regular heart doctor. It was a reasonable price, too. It's $1,000 a month, and that's for a single bedroom, which also includes a meal per day. They have beautiful grounds, too, and they had an opening, so we went for it. Everybody I met there was very nice. The other residents were also very nice. It's an excellent community. My sister lives in a single-bedroom apartment, and it is what you'd expect for a single-bedroom apartment. I would say that the upkeep was excellent, and the grounds were very well kept. It has different wings, and they surround a big courtyard in the middle that's full of flowers and trees. It was very nice. They serve one meal a day to the residents, so they have a cafeteria. The building used to be a nursing home, which they transferred into a living center, so they have really good facilities for that stuff. I didn't experience any of the activities, but they have neat stuff that my sister would like. For instance, they had a big sewing room for making quilts, and she loves that kind of thing.
