Golden Livingcenter - Glasgow is as good as a nursing home is going to get. I have no major complaints. My mother was in the hospital, and she needed some physical therapy and stuff out there. It's clean. The people are dedicated to the care. I don't think they have huge turnover problems, although that is always kind of a challenge in that industry. It's probably better than most places. They give a variety of food. You can only expect so much from an institutional setting, and they do try to do seasonal events. They have activities for them. They try to get them involved. Everybody in town has had some relatives there, and I don't know anyone who's ever had a major complaint about the place. She's safe. They're certainly adhering to all the requirements, and there are lots of requirements. They care about their residents. It's industrial-scale mass-produced food, and it's not like there's a bunch of fresh vegetables. I've been in nursing homes before, and it's difficult to keep smells down. You got old people, you got urine smells, but I've never really smelled anything difficult there, and I've got a really sensitive sniffer.

The staff at Golden Living Center were very polite and helpful in answering all of our questions. They gave us a tour of the facility and explained the routine of a regular day for the occupants of the facility. It was a delightful experience and I recommend Golden Living Center to everyone that I know. The amenities were nice. The rooms were kind of small, but once everything was moved into the room, it felt like home. Grandpa loves the place, and wishes he would have done it earlier. The only negative thing that I can say about Golden Living Center is that the place did feel bland and too quiet for our needs. There wasn't much interaction or activities that we felt grandpa needed.
