My dad moved into Fair Oaks Lodge. It was the only one available, which is why we chose it. I don't like anything about it. The nurses are understaffed, which I'm guessing most nursing homes are right now anyway in this area. It's not the cleanest. Most of the care that I've seen given is cold and quick. We've had to have follow-up meetings with billing and different types of care. My dad is in a double room. The rooms are very small and cold. The furnishings are very old. Their food looks okay. It is catered, so there's minimal space. My dad does not eat oatmeal, so on oatmeal day, he doesn't have an alternate. I've not seen an activity calendar, but that could be because my dad is bedridden. I've seen a few people watching TV in the front lounge. Otherwise, the people are in their rooms.
