My mother moved into Golden Horizons of Sandstone. I chose it because, after the tour, I was just happy with it. It seemed like a nice place. The staff and everyone there just made it seem like a good place. The facility is clean and I think there are only 14 rooms in memory care. So, it's a little bit smaller facility, which I thought would be good for my mom's case. The staff and everyone there seems great. The food and everything is good for her, too. I think she's happy with the food. They have music, poker, and they have some different things. I'm just, overall, happy with the place. It seems like a good choice, and they had the availability at the time that I needed it.

My parents moved into Golden Horizons of Sandstone. My dad's apartment is beautiful, and it is very functional for what he needs. The staff is phenomenal. Everyone is very kind and caring. The nursing staff does very good service. The facility is very clean. There are a lot of activities. It's decorated beautifully, and it just makes it feel like home. Both my parents say the food is great. They do have activities, but some of the activities require the residents to have really fine motor skills to be able to complete them, like crafts and things like that. That's why music is so nice for them, but it's only once every two weeks.

I toured Golden Horizons of Sandstone. I liked the passion of the staff to care for the people as if they were family members. The facility was very clean and there were no odors present. The dining room area looked very sufficient and homey. Their common areas were very quiet and there was a homey feeling as well. The cost of the facility was more than I had anticipated, it was about $1,000 more than comparable facilities that I had looked at. The only thing that I found questionable was that the bathroom showers required a step-up to go into the showers, and I'm not sure that my husband would be able to do that.

Golden Horizons of Sandstone was very clean. People were friendly. I like the room sizes. They have crafts, there was a lady who was sewing, and they have different people come in and do music. The facilities looked well kept up and all that. It's a new facility. The staff was friendly and helpful.
