I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father-in-law stayed at the rehabilitation facility of Memorial Care Center in Belleville. They only had one or two actual full-time residents still there. Everybody else was in a temporary rehabilitation situation. They are not equipped for a cognitively declining person. They just don't have staff, and they don't understand how to handle them. There were a few staff members who did really great with him, but most of them did not. They also have no activities at all for anybody who's in a cognitive decline. If they are in a double room, there's no room at all for anything. They're tiny, and my father-in-law was in a double room briefly. The food also lacked flavor. It lacked even visually, looking at it. A lot of times, my father-in-law didn't even wanna eat it, and he was still eating quite well then, so it wasn't just a situation where he had a cognitive decline and just wasn't eating. This was a situation where it just didn't taste good. They need to work on their staff, especially training for cognitive decline, if they're going to take those types of rehabilitation patients in. They also have to have more involvement of some sort because I never witnessed an activity there, and we were there every day, all day and night. It was crazy, to be honest.
