"Summer Wood Alzheimer's Special Care Center was very clean, and the patients themselves seemed clean. The rooms looked nice, and they were clean also. The dining room was large. They ate together, so there was some socialization with each other. The only negative I have is they don't really have any participation things, like cards or coffee hour or bingo, nothing like that. They just basically sit around. I've had my spouse in other places, and they've always had something going on. Here, they'd just sit around and look at walls, and that I didn't care for. They said that they have puzzles and they have things and they let people do what they want on their own, but it doesn't give them the opportunity to socialize or make friends. The rooms were quite large. 90 percent of them are shared, and you pay extra for a private room. They have a courtyard. They have a little game room for people to play with puzzles, and they have some books there, like if they're gonna do crosswords and stuff like that. They have a common room where there's a TV on, that's it. I was with the director and she was very polite and nice."
