"My mother-in-law stayed at Paramount Senior Living at Peters Township. It's a very clean facility and has a very professional staff. It seems like a very good place for my mother-in-law to be in. Her room is a suite. It has an area for her bed, a table, and a small kitchenette. There's a bathroom. It's very nice. It's reasonable compared to other places. It was cheaper than some and more expensive than others, but the facility was so nice. We chose it because of how nice it was inside."

"It is too expensive for me. The building outside was not very attractive, but the inside was beautiful. The rooms were something that fit me and what I was looking for. They have three meals a day and heated underground parking. It should be fine for anybody if you can afford it."

"We toured Arden Courts of Jefferson Hills. It was very nice. Everybody brought in a wreath, and all the rooms were decorated. They had a little box where you could put stuff in it. The staff was very, very nice. When you came in, they offered you cookies. I liked the porches outside where they would take the patients, and there was nice scenery."

"I like The Grand Residence at Upper St Clair because they have spacious accommodations for the residents. Their apartments are bigger, so that's nice. It looks like their food is really good. The atmosphere and the way they're decorated is very fundamentally different when you think about a quintessential nursing home. The person who guided me was Christopher, and he was great. They showed me a menu for the week. It's a very diverse menu. People from outside of the facility can eat there, and they have to pay of course like a restaurant. I think they take a lot of pride in their food. All of the common areas are very nice. The apartments are a little older than the other places I looked at, but they're clean and well-kept."

"I visited the assisted living facility of Celebration Villa of Lakemont Farms in Bridgeville. The people who gave the tour were very pleasant. The rooms I saw were smaller, but the upkeep is very nice. The dining area was big. The parking area was also good. I was able to find a parking space."

"My mom moved in. The people are just so personable. Every single person is brought out to the community room. They are very attentive. They walk to the units and ask if the patients would like a cup of coffee. It is definitely like a family. The facility is beautiful. They have a hair salon. The activities are wonderful. Every day, I can see them out there doing word games. They have music. If there's an anxiety-ridden patient, they'll have themselves and other patients around them trying to calm the patient, holding their hand, saying the rosary, and all kinds of things to help calm the patient. It's like they're caring for their mother. The food is excellent."

"My mother was in Harmony at Morgantown. She died a year ago, but she was there until she needed more care. She was happy with the place. She was in their assisted living facility and was there for 3 years. They had a lot of activities that she participated in. She wasn't a big activity person, but she participated every time they had bingo. She also participated in a Bible study group and attended church services, as various churches took turns hosting them. They have movies there, but she's not big on that. She ate all her meals in the dining room. The only negative about that was that when staffing was low, which it was at times, they were very slow in getting meals out to the clients. They would be sitting there for 30 to 45 minutes waiting for a meal, so that was the main thing my mom complained about a lot. I think she mostly liked the food, though. They had a limited menu they could pick from if they didn't want what was on the menu, and they usually had two choices. They had special meals at holiday times and invited family in, and that was always very nice and very good. I think the staff members were all very caring. They all had good relationships with my mom and were very concerned about her. They have a library, which my mom used and enjoyed. They didn't have much outdoor space, but they're up on a hill, and you can walk around the parking lot. Other than that, there really isn't other space to walk around. People would walk their dogs there, but my mom did not walk outside because she had difficulties with her balance. I think they're very expensive compared to other places, but my mom was very happy there. I think if you can afford it, then it's a good place to be."

"I visited Friendship Village of South Hills independent living for my friend. I found it to be open, welcoming, and bright. There were lots of windows in the corridors. They also have multiple levels of care. The staff seemed very nice. I also spoke to a resident who was very happy there, and that just happened, it wasn't even planned. The person who did the tour and talked with us was very informative and very good. We ate in their bistro and it was good. They've got an open brick oven where they make pizzas, grilled sandwiches, and salads. The food was decent, I wouldn't say it was five-stars, but it was good. We saw a room and got a feel for that. It's small but has nice, big windows. They have enough amenities in the apartments, like a refrigerator and microwave. They have a training room and physical therapists who come in. If you need physical therapy they'll bring it to the therapy room, or you can just use the room yourself if you want. They have barbells and a couple of treadmills there. If you need more care than independent daily living then they have internal staff that actually do things like cleaning your apartment twice a week. You have your own washer and dryer in your apartment, and they will do your laundry once or twice a week."

"I like everything about Country Meadows - South Hills. I like the rooms. They were nice and clean. All the staff that we talked to were very friendly. Everybody seemed to be very happy, very content. The dining area was very spacious, very nice, very, very clean, and just welcoming. They have a beauty shop and a game shop. They have a list of activities that are done. So, they seem to have everything that my aunt would need or want. They have laundry service for the residents, and the workers will do their laundry once a week."

"The director at Artis Senior Living of South Hills was super nice. I love the layout of how they did their community, the accessibility to food or drinks for the residents. Their menu seemed very good and very extensive. There'd be no reason to go hungry. The staff I met was awesome, but I didn't see any residents. It was because of the time that I toured that facility. That was more so in the evening, probably around 5:30-6:00, so a lot of the residents had already had their dinner and were already in their rooms. The woman I met at the reception was the woman who gave me the tour. They were fabulous."
