I was a resident of this facility for a year and a half. I would recommend it to anyone. I was treated very well while there. The staff is such a caring group of individuals they go above and beyond anyone’s expectations. They have such a challenging job They are faced with extremely difficult situations daily. To their credit they handle it flawlessly. If you are looking for a safe place to put your loved one I highly recommend this place.

Phelps Good Shepard is one of the best nursing homes from what I've heard. It is clean and the residents are well taken care of. The staff is friendly and willing to do what they can to assist residents and a residents family. They feed or bath the residents that need it without complaint. The staff even puts up with the constant sexual harassment from the residents including male and female. A doctor visits the patients almost daily and they have a physical rehabilitation room in the facility. They have a recreation room and lots of scheduled activities everyday. They take the residents on trips to a local mall or wal-mart on occasion and allow them to spend their their monthly checks if they want too. They have three repair men on duty at all times who also function as janitors so the facility is keep clean in good working order. It has it's own cafeteria and cafeteria workers that provide assorted food everyday. The staff is well organized and attentive to the needs of it's residents. Residents get personal bathrooms that are cleaned daily. Good Shepard is the top rated nursing home in Kentucky.

Family caretaker

My aunt Lois spent about six months in this nursing home after her sister died and this was the nicest facility I have ever visited. She and her sister were in two others facilities in the area and this one was the best by far. The first thing you notice is that it does not smell like a nursing home it smells fresh and clean and you are welcomed by the staff who makes you feel like they want you there. The staff is very caring and attentive they try to satify the needs of the residents in every way possible. All of the employeees take pride in their work and treat the patients like they are family. The nurses and aides are very good at thier jobs and keep a constent eye on the patents and notify you quickly of any changes in the condition of the patent. I would not hesitate to use this nursing home again in the future.
