"I have always enjoyed my visits to Colonial House. I have been visiting since i was a child, when our church would go once a month to sing. The residents always have a smile on their faces that brings me joy. The staff has always been great!! "

"Everything in Windsor Gardens of Bardstown was easy to get through. The layout of the building was very nice. It was made for easy access. I also liked the fact that they encourage healthy habits. They offer meals in your room, but it's for an extra $5 every time they have to deliver a meal. That's because they want the residents to get out, come down, and be social. They have a restaurant-style dining hall where you come in, sit down, and order. So, it's not like a buffet where you have to walk through, get your food, and take it back to your table or anything. I like the staff too. They seemed to care about what was going on and it wasn't just a job. They had studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and most of them have outside entrances. In other words, they've got like patio doors where you'll have your own little sitting area outside the room. You can use that as an exterior exit so that when your friends and family come to visit, they don't have to come through the front door and then back to your room."

"Several of my relatives have been residents of Grandview in the past, and one (my great-uncle) is currently. I have also worked as a volunteer there. I must admit, I have been fairly impressed. I've seen more than a few below-par nursing homes, and Grandview definitely hits the mark. The residents seem to be, for the most part, happy and content. All their needs are met, and activities are frequent. The staff is polite and courteous and I have never seen them delay their response to a patient's needs. Several of the patients suffer from dementia and are not entirely sure of where they are. Instead of correcting them when they mistakenly call someone by the wrong name, the staff simply plays along. This keeps the residents happy. The atmosphere is also very homey.The food is prepared by a professional chef and is quite delicious as well. The residents also seem to enjoy it, which is what really matters. "

"My father came to Sunrise Manor for physical therapy to regain strength after a 2 week stay in the hospital and being diagnosed with dementia. He received excellent care and attention by all the staff from front office to nursing care. He went into hospice care and still received continuous care from the staff along with hospice nurses. I highly recommend this facility to anyone searching for physical therapy or also long term care for a loved one."

"The facility upkeep was excellent - very clean. The Staff was very courteous and understanding of the situation we had. My Great Grandfather lived comfortably his last few years of life. He seemed very happy before he passed on. "

"My grandmother did respite care at The Willows at Harrodsburg. It was fabulous. She was there at least six weeks and I had no complaints whatsoever. She did therapy there, and they had activities open to the public and private activities for them to do daily, movies, and popcorn. It was always clean, and it never had any kind of smell. There was always someone on-staff if you needed something. They even gave out their personal phone numbers if you needed something after hours. They went above and beyond in every way."

"My mom moved into Walker's Trail Senior Living. It was close to my home, which was important to me in terms of being able to visit. They had availability and it was newer and had good reviews in the past. The staff is very good with the residents and there's good communication about what's going on there. So that was kind of important to me. They have some gardening that they do, puzzles, and just some small events on campus. So that's kind of what she's involved with. The food is all right, not great, and some other meals are ok. I think her room is nice. She has a shared bathroom, which is maybe not ideal, but it's a fairly new community. And there's a nice window, it's spacious, and there's a lot of light."

"Morning Pointe of Danville was one floor, which made it easier and more accessible for my dad. My visit was very nice. They were wonderful to work with. It's a newer facility, so it's a little bit brighter and more appealing. The place was beautiful, but the price point was a little higher. We looked at an enclave, which had a room and a sitting area, and was a little bigger than a studio."

"My parents moved to Liberty Care and Rehabilitation Center. They're doing therapy on and off. It's not an apartment. It's a nursing home. There's two of them in a room and the rooms could be bigger. They do keep it clean. It doesn't smell at all. The staff, I don't like it because they get agency nurses from time to time, so they don't know what's going on. They're always shorthanded and they're not always checking in the room to see how my mother or father are doing. We have a lot of unhappiness about that part. I tried their food a couple of times and my mother hates their food. They are hired out from the company. They're not employees of this nursing home but they have tried working with my mom on trying to find things that she can eat. If they don't like plan A, then they try to go to plan B."

"This is a good facility. It has a real small town feel and the staff are caring and friendly. I toured the building and found it clean and it smelled good. "

"I thought Parkview Manor was very good. I think what excited me too the most was that it’s on a smaller scale and a bit homier. The room and dining room were good; it was like a home. It was big enough for everything that she needed, and the bathroom was very accessible. The dining room and the common room that they go in to watch and whatever they wanted to do is very ample. "

"My stepfather was a short term resident recovering from complications of gall bladder surgery which left him with a deep wound, the wound care was awesome. The Staff from the nurses, therapy, dining to the admin was super respectful and very nice to our family. I have had experiences with a couple of other facilities around, but none compare to Danville Health and Rehab Center. I would recommend them to anybody that is needing short term to long term care. Awesome, clean facility, great staff!!! "

"Bluegrass Assisted Living seems to understand what my father's needs are. Overall, the staff is very polite and very cordial, they follow up with me, and they seem to be committed. They have a 1-bedroom, and then they have a studio apartment that has all in one -- living area, sleeping, bathroom, and closet. They would probably do better if they could have some more activities. The community is in a good location, and the grounds are nice."
