My stepmother was a resident in 2009 in her last months of life and later my father was a resident in 2011-2012 and considered it to be home---he and we, his family, were very happy with his care as he spent his last year happy and independent to the extent he was able to care for himself. Now I find that I am again most appreciative of services at Parkview. My sister who is under 65 was employed full time and became seriously ill with complications from diabetes. When her acute hospital stay (she did not live in Osborne) was completed I contacted the administrator and was able to arrange for her admission to Parkview. The care as always has been exemplary and the administrator and her staff have been very helpful with guidance in obtaining services available as well as paperwork necessary for financial assistance for my sister. I am a retired RN and reviewed/inspected extended care facilities for placement of Veterans and at one time State Hospital Patients in Colorado, Illinois and Arkansas. Parkview is by far one of the best facilities I have seen. On visits to my relatives, I have observed that every patient is treated with dignity and worth. The staff is invested in the residents well being as demonstrated by their care and concern---They know the residents likes and dislikes and respect those things as much as they can when giving care or feeding residents. They truly treat the community as a family. As family if I call for information they know their residents and if they don't know the answers to questions will follow up and find out the answer. Most amazing to me is how the administrator and her staff make you feel like your loved one is special and the only one they are concerned with at the time you are talking to you and the their concern is genuine. I am so thankful for the quality of life they afforded my father in the last year of his life and now the care they are giving my sister. Even when short handed or extremely busy the staff ---all staff--not just nurses work as a team to give the best care possible. When I visit I always eat in the dining room and attend activities and observe that this behavior is not just for "company" but the standard. Hats off to this Staff---I believe it this is a direct result of excellent leadership/management and staff really like their jobs despite the usual frustrations any job has. I would recommend care at this facility to anyone needing this type of services. Before my Dad died At 90 years of age, he said He didn't want to grow old just killing time---he wanted to enjoy the time----and Parkview gave him that opportunity!!
