We visited the Vintage Park at Hiawatha. It was very clean and organized, and there wasn't any trash lying around. They have a couple of openings right now. The only disadvantage for us is the distance; otherwise, it would have taken care of our needs. The staff was very knowledgeable, and it looks like they're doing their job well and keeping the place clean and organized. We were told about a couple of activities when we were there. They have a beauty shop and a library not far from the room that we saw. The room was furnished for demo purposes only. The staff seemed to know what he was talking about, and he's been there for about three or four years.

At the time that I had visited Vintage park they were doing activities and was pulled in by the atmosphere or the kindness of staff and residences. The staff were engaged in making Christmas ornaments with people and it looked as if everyone was having a great time laughing and sharing past holiday stories. One elderly person was telling about the war and not being home for the holidays but his family sent him cards and cookies. I could really feel the love in the air so to speak. After the activity they had dinner and some of the people went to a movie with staff. The people they did not go watched a movie in the living room , they all looked so happy and well taken care of. I have never seen anyone so at peace outside of their own homes. I should hope that when I get to be to the age that I can't live in my own home that I can find some place like this to live. The staff seemed to really care about the people they were taking care of.
