My mom is in Cedar Ridge Independent Living and I think it's pretty good. They have a lot of activities and stuff to do for the people. I've had interactions with a couple of the staff and they've always been nice. I know they serve breakfast for free every day but she doesn't usually use them. They have a library and I think there's a courtyard too so they would have an outdoor space. They have garages for the residents' cars which cost extra per month. They have church activities and other activities that people can participate in. Compared to other places, considering things like apartment rent and other stuff, they are comparable. The residents also get a lot of free things like free cable and internet, which is a big deal for independent living. Some of the places require you to put in huge deposits and community fees that you can't get back. One of the big things for my mom for going here was that there was a community fee, but it goes toward your rent so the money is actually going towards something and not just an additional fee on top of everything else. That was an important thing.

We have already moved my mom into Cedar Ridge. We liked it because they had already been living there in the independent living area, and it allowed my dad to stay there and so he can be in the same building as my mom and not have to move from where he was living. They do some cooking, exercise classes, and game nights inside, as well as picnics and things they do outside. It's been a wonderful experience. The staff has been wonderful. They made the move as easy as possible, and they've been working with my mom very well and meeting her needs. It's just been a very positive experience.
