"My dad moved into Franciscan Court. The staff was very wonderful walking us through both the process as well as the facility. The facility is smaller and met my dad's personality better than some of the other places we were looking at. There were a good number of activities and opportunities for him to socialize and grow. They were accommodating in terms of the availability and what opportunities he had. They were helpful in getting him enrolled and they made that welcome and very easy in terms of process. Also, the on-site welcome for my dad was great. They did some introductions and made him feel very welcome. The staff was very friendly, very homey, and folksy. It felt very neighborly. And so all of those things were great for my dad's needs."

"My mother is happy at Victory Centre of Bartlett. It's a supportive living community. Initially, she wasn't happy, but I think she just needed a little more time. People assured me it usually takes about three months for the person to settle in, so that's exactly what happened. She's very satisfied with where she is. The people who work there are very caring and attentive to my mother. Everybody knows her by name. Sometimes, I think she could use a little more assistance with her daily living activities. The food is very good. It's very clean. They are very concerned about the spread of germs. Recently, there was a little stomach bug outbreak. They made everybody stay in their room. They brought food to the room. They tried to contain it and they were very successful with their approach. They have games, movies, different crafts that they can do with the people and outings. They have a variety of things to do for the residents."

"I will be moving into the Oaks at Bartlett. We chose it because of the people there and the atmosphere of the place. I just liked the way it was, and it's not too far from where I'm living now, and I wanted to stay in the same area. It's very comfortable looking, and it isn't too big. I visited a couple places that were very big, and I just felt lost in them. I didn't feel lost in this place. They have a nice seating area with a great fireplace and beautiful sofas, and they've got game rooms, a library, a pool, and a workout room. It seemed like they got a lot of stuff there. I have high hopes that it will be everything I think it is. Everybody was very nice. Not only was the staff real nice, but the residents all seemed very happy to be there. Everything that I saw was super. It's a nice looking place."

"The Woodlands at Canterfield was beautiful. The apartments were fine, clean, nice, and brand new. We met with several people and they were all very nice and professional. They had a bunch of games going. It's brand new so there were not that many people there yet. We saw people in the lunchroom and it looked very nice. The dining area was beautiful. I didn't eat there. My brother and my mom ate there and they said the food was excellent. We met with several different people and overall everybody was great, but some were better than others."

"Both mom and dad are at Belmont Village at Geneva Road. They provide complete care of his current dementia situation. They had special classes that he can attend to help improve his mental health. The food is outstanding. I have eaten multiple meals there -- both the menu and specials -- and I think they are by far the best of the facilities that we've visited. "

"Jennings Terrace was an older place. It was not the newest and greatest facility, but I think they knew what they were doing, taking care of people. They're more economical. I've been there because friends of ours are living there, so we visited them. We ate there and my experience with them was positive. They facility just needed some upkeep."

"We toured StoryPoint Naperville. It was a very friendly staff, very clean, modern, and up-to-date. It looked like a five-star high-class hotel. The three-course meals look five star, very high quality from what we've seen on the display as far as the meals and all. All in all the place looked in mint condition. They did an assessment of her with the nurse, and they decided that she would need a possibly level two memory assistance in the memory care facility. They're just not furnished. You have to bring all your things in like, the bed, the chair, the TV and all that. We didn't go upstairs to the memory care facility, but they showed us on the first floor, and they were nice rooms with windows. The staff was very good, very knowledgeable in what they were showing us, and answering questions. They had all the questions and all the info and stuff while we were touring."

"My dad is now here. It is very clean. The food is excellent. They have very excellent staff. They are top notch. He has a one-bedroom, and of course it is beautiful. It has a brand new bathroom. It is nicely appointed. It had new kitchen appliances. Everything is put in for him. They have a van if you need to go to the grocery store. There have dinner outings or if you want to go to theater. They are all kinds of activities like bingo -- you name it."

"I'm picky (I'm a nurse) and I have to say, Sunnymere is great. The DON was kind, helpful, and very patient. My Mom moved in pretty quickly, and she really loved the homey atmosphere. Everyone was kind to her there. The food smelled good too. The facility has a lovely dining room, reading area and terrace. The building backs up to Phillips Park Golf Course. We ended up having to move my Mom due to her increasing confusion associated with dementia. Nice place. Quiet. Golf course grounds. Professional DON. "
