I visited this facility

The Gardens at Moweaqua was nice and clean. I liked it. It seemed like a good community. The lady that gave me the tour was very nice and answered all my questions. It was a really good experience. The rooms were nice and really big. Surprisingly, they're bigger than I thought they would be. It's a nice layout. I think my dad will be happy there. They got bingo, a living area, and a dining room. It's just a nice place altogether. There's somebody there 24 hours a day. The only problem my dad has is he falls a lot and he can't get back up. If they will go by and check on him now and then, it'll be a good deal. The staff told me they got plans to renovate some of the rooms, so they're investing back in their facility. The cost of The Gardens is a little bit better than some of the other places that I went to. It works for my dad's budget.

Provider Response

Mark, Thank you very much for your review, we appreciate all the kind things you have to say about our facility. We are doing some renovations on our assisted/independent living side and can't wait to see the final outcome. We are pleased to have your dad living with us and hope he is happy with his new apartment!

I visited this facility

I was impressed with Moweaqua Nursing & Retirement Ctr. It's just awfully small. We have friends in their independent living facility. It's clean, and I like that if someone is going to move into one of the apartments they ask you what you would like to do to it. For example, they'll paint it for you, and I was impressed with that part. The cost was reasonable. I did not like that they store extra equipments in some of the apartments. It looked trashy. That's how you would go out if there was a fire, so they have to keep it open. I also did not like that back where they get deliveries it looked really trashy. There's also a smoking station in the little building back there and that's absolutely a turnoff. We also had some friends in their nursing home. I didn't see anything that I thought was gross misconduct. Everybody seemed well taken care of. I had an aunt that lived there, and she had no complaints about anything. It's a pretty nice place for a small town. They have little individual rooms, and they seemed to be staffed very well. However, there's not quite enough activities for them to do. It appeared clean, and there was nobody sitting around that was distressed or needed attention.
