My husband spent two weeks in Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation after being in the hospital. He needed rehab to just build his strength back up. We were very pleased. We had no problem getting into the nursing home as soon as they knew he wasn't going to be on chemo. They will not take patients on chemo. We were very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the size of the rooms. The rooms were very clean and a nice size. They had windows, which is always helpful for people like my husband who's claustrophobic. The nurses were very kind and considerate. My husband felt that the help did come not always as fast as he would like, but normal for what you get when they're trying to handle many, many patients. When you hit your call button, they may be helping somebody else that's in a worse crisis than you are if it's just you need to go to the bathroom. All in all, my husband was very pleased with them. He liked the physical therapist and the occupational therapist who each came twice a day. He felt the food was good for a nursing home, that there was a variety, and so forth. We were very pleased with it and we would recommend people to go there, especially for rehab. I don't know what it's like when they're not there for rehab because we were just in the rehab section. My husband didn't have anybody he didn't like and he felt that they were all kind and considerate. It was clean and well kept. They had some nice activities. They had band groups that came in, they had piano players that came in, and there were church groups that came in. They offered quite a bit and they would have things like bingo. He was there for four weeks and I know there were at least two of those activities while he was there.
