My friend is in Graceville Health Center, but I wish I could get him out of there. I wouldn't put anybody in that nursing home. It's not a good nursing home. They don't give him anything to eat, and when they do it is cold. They don't take care of their residents like they should do. He has laid for 35 minutes waiting for somebody to come put a bandage on him when he was bleeding, because he falls. They let him go out to smoke at 7:30, 10:00, 1:00, and 4:30, and the little place for them to smoke has about 25 people. It's a hazard to me for 25 people to be in that little place smoking at one time. They are awful. The bed that he sleeps on is an old bed that some big person has slept on and has the springs mashed down where the bed won't lay, and he has to get up during the night and pull the mattress over. They get breakfast and they get one sausage, some grits, and scrambled eggs, and they're always cold. I went down there one day when they had lunch. They gave him rice cooked with shrimp in it that was awful. Everybody in there was trying to throw up over that one. They have cards and bingo and stuff like that, but you don't see anybody doing that. They're all in their rooms or up and down the hallways. His room is good. It's got tables in there and it looks really nice in there.

This facility is not kept well. When my mother was there spills were often ignored. Employees would step over rather than take care of it. Mother was supposed to have feeding assistance, but only occasionally received help. She lost a lot of weight because they actually seemed to believe she didn't want food, so no effort was made to encourage her to eat. Some of the employees did seem to care for their patients, but the majority seemed to be much more involved with their phones than their patients. Thankfully some of our family was able to visit regularly and began to notice the neglect, so moved our mother to a more to caring and concerned facility. I am writing this rewiew as a caution to anyone who is considering this facility. If you care you don't want your family members here.

Graceville Health Center seems to be real good. The staff seems to know what they're doing and seems to be very helpful. They have something scheduled just about every day. They have bingo and games and stuff like that. My wife is sharing a room, but it seems to be very comfortable. Communication with the community is pretty good. It's very clean. They got a place outside and a common area.
