"Emerald Bay Retirement Community was a beautiful place. They were very friendly and very informative, but when it came down to putting mom on the waiting list, there's just no way we can afford it. Otherwise, she'd be there now. The facility was very clean and very nice. If that's the way it is all the time, the place is perfect. There's nothing bad I could say about it, other than the fact that after everything is done and we were through with the tour, I called back to get mom on the waiting list, and I was informed that it's $2,500 to put her on the waiting list and they won't put her on the waiting list until they receive the check. They never said anything about that when we were going through the tour. Tyler was excellent. He was very informative and very polite, and everybody seemed to like him. Everybody was talking to him. Even the rest of the staff was friendly."

"New Perspective | Howard was absolutely beautiful. When I drove up to that, it felt like a resort. It did not feel like a nursing home/assisted living facility at all. It was gorgeous. The rooms were beautiful. Absolutely. Everything was so clean. I'd like to live there myself. I ran into so many residents there and they were so happy. I'm a musician and they were eating in the dining room and there was a piano in there so I sat down and played a little song at the piano. They were like, "Oh, we would love to meet your mom and we would love to have you play Cocktail Hour here." The lady that gave the tour was so warm, friendly, and made me feel so safe to put my mother there. The place was full of people and full of family. During the tour, the residents came up and talked with us and I got introduced to people. It was just really nice. When I was leaving, there were families that were using the pool and out on the grounds. They were walking on the trails and enjoying where their mother or grandmother was living. They were so friendly and helpful and so happy to be there. If I were going to put my mom somewhere, that would be the place I would want her to be."

"The Heritage and Peabody Manor Community provides more care than where my mom was living before, and it is not as expensive. She is in the community-based residential facility part, but they also have a skilled nursing facility adjacent to it. So, if she gets to the point where she needs that additional care, she can be moved to that location. We're very lucky that my sister found out about this place because they had two openings and they had not had an opening for quite some time. The other thing was my mother was transferred directly from the hospital to this facility and it worked out well. They have a higher ratio of CNAs to residents and they have an RN available 24/7. She's also receiving physical therapy. They're going to try to give her speech therapy as well. I would highly recommend this place. The other good thing about it is they have their own bus to transport residents to medical appointments. I sat with my mom for several meals while she ate and the variety of food that they offered and the quality of it were good. People have designated seats in the dining room, so it's a very nice atmosphere. It is well-appointed. It's got two windows on two sides and they have woods around the campus. It's got a nice restful view. All of the different facilities in it were clean. Both my sister and I were impressed. On Fridays, they have members of the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra come and perform. My mom has gone to that activity, but they have all kinds of other activities. I feel that it's a good value for the money, especially considering the amount of attention and care that my mom gets, which are very important."

"The rooms are plenty spacious. The food has a very good selection for those looking for variety. The staff were overall, so good with my Dad. He had his 10 favorites, each one giving him special attention that he craved. The people in charge are flexible to make positive changes."
