"Jewish Home of Eastern PA was a very beautiful place. There was no odor. The walls had colors. It's homey and had wooden floors. I only saw the dementia unit. The administrator who showed me around was very kind and answered all my questions. They just didn't have any availability. The staff was extremely friendly. Meals were included. They had an activities room and there were some people coloring. It seemed very pleasant."

Originally sponsored by the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, it opened its doors in 1976 and is a nonsectarian, nonprofit organization providing housing for seniors and persons with mobility disabilities who need the assessible features of the building. In addition to providing apartments, Webster Towers also offers an opportunity for socialization through various activities. Holiday parties, gatherings for Bingo and games of all types, topical speakers, entertainers, and bi-weekly prepared midday meals are only a few of the opportunities for seniors to interact. Whatever your income, there is an apartment for you! Although there is no asset or income limit related to residency in the building, we offer rental rates based on income to those who may need financial assistance, and reasonable rates if your income is above the current Department of Housing and Urban Development income limits. "My mother-in-law will be moving into Wesley Village. I've been there a couple of times with her and they're wonderful. It's clean, and the nurses are exceptionally polite and they're very attentive. The rooms were good and plenty big enough. I know they have birthday parties and they play different things. The dining area is very nice. I know everybody that's been there likes it. They have quite a selection of food. Everybody is very helpful. Right now, I went into rehab but they are moving her over to the nursing care."

"We liked Harrison House for my sister. It seemed clean and well cared for. The clientele is what you would expect in a nursing home that is associated with a counseling center. There were people with a lot of different mental health issues. It is small, and my sister is going to have a roommate. They do have activities, and I don't have anything bad to say about it. I would say it is no better and no worse than where she is now, and it gets her into Scranton, which is gold. It is a room, not an apartment. There are beds, and you can bring your own furniture. I believe they have a desk and a chair. If you want a television in your room, you can bring it. It is your basic assisted living room, like a dorm. The person that took me around was wonderful. She was very helpful. They provide three meals a day, and they can get snacks. They can come down and get a drink whenever they want. We weren't there at mealtime. It looks like pretty basic stuff. They were having sandwiches for lunch, and they had eggs for breakfast. I forgot what they were having for dinner, but it was a cooked dinner. It was not anything bad, and there were a couple of options. They have a yard outside with picnic tables, and they use part of it for a smoking area. It is basically like a backyard that you would see next to a house."
