"The people at Twin Oaks at Heritage Pointe were very nice, very warm, and friendly. It's run as a family facility. It's very nice and everybody pays the same amount. It has two floors and mom would have been on the top floor, so that would have been an issue for her. However, they had the most awesome setup there. The layout was set up in pods where they have one living room and dining room, a gathering/great room in the middle, and all the resident's rooms were off of that. They each had a little sun porch or deck or something where they could go outside. They had game tables in the middle (in their great room area). I saw some women playing cards, and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. They were just a little pricey and their food was not restaurant-style. Whatever they're serving today, that is what they're having and I did not like that. They raved that they have a chef, but they don't kind of accommodate you. So, I wasn't impressed with their dining experience situation."

"They had 30 days to prepare for my friends arrival... But room was not cleaned! Previous redidents dentures and used bathroom items left on the shelf. Hair and dust on the sink and shelf by mirror made it obvious The bathroom was not cleaned and disinfected as it should be! The carpet in room was certainly not shampood... it wasnt EVEN VACUUMED! Worse yet.... the head nurse who was left in charge was not told to expect my friend to move in that day! "

"The Homestead at Hickory View was very nice. The room was nice, big, and clean. The staff was very friendly, very sweet, and very responsive to my mom's needs. We had lunch there, and it was really good."

"My mother-in-law lives in Breeze Park. It is very clean. They have lots of options. They have swimming and movies and anything you can think of. We borrow their puzzles a lot and make puzzles. They have a little bistro you can go down to if you don't feel like going to the cafeteria. You can get some breakfast and free coffee. The lady who sits at the door is always very friendly. The maintenance people are always quick to come help when they need something. The people in the cafeteria are very nice, too. I've had several meals there, and the food is very good. They have modernized the facility. My mother-in-law doesn't like the modern stuff, but it is very nice."

"We chose The Villages of St. Peters for mom, because she was in the rehab facility next door that is managed by the same company and it just provided the perfect environment for her. It has smaller wings of living facilities with up to a dozen people per wing, which is perfect for her style. The memory care staff is warm and caring. They have many activities. She's on the go right away every day after breakfast through early afternoon and they'll usually have at least three or four activities for her to choose from if she wishes to do them. Then sometimes they even do field trips. She has gained weight, so she likes the food. The facilities are very clean, well-kept, bright, and cheerful. She's got a well-sized room with two closets."
