I live in Sandford Hotel Apartments. It's a 55 and older building. I buy my own food. I got a microwave and a hot plate, too. I'm self-supported. What I like is the solitude and that I don't have people bother me trying to get me to do things. After working all day, I want to come home and rest. But on the weekends, I don't have anything to do but walk around and I'd like to do something else then walk. The common space is nice. It's an old building. Some of the furniture is old, but it's not rickety and falling apart. It's not dusty. It's clean. Up in the lobby, there's a reading room with a library and nice pictures of old San Diego on the wall. In the basement, you have the senior care office, laundry, a big banquet room, and a kitchen. There's an ice cream machine, soda machines, and food machines. It's pretty nice. And it's all tiled. It's clean. The staff members are all helpful, friendly, and nice. I have yet to see them do anything out of character.
