"Manchin Assisted Living seemed to be alright. It just had an odor to the place that I didn't care for, and it was more like a nursing home. The rooms were pretty nice though and every room had its own nice private bathroom. The staff was very nice too and very knowledgeable, and the dining area looked clean."

"Serenity Hope was a very country setting, and it's a very small place with only eight residents, which was what I liked about it. The people who owned it were very, very friendly and very efficient. The rooms were kind of small, but they're private and it's a nice little place. They have three covered porches and the residents seemed to be very satisfied with what they fed them."

"The nurse and the owner of Sisters Elder Care LLC went to where my husband was to interview him, talk with him, and talk with the people that had been caring for him, which I thought was very good. That's the first time that's ever happened, to have them go to the place and look at him before they accept him. So, I was impressed with that and then when he was to move in, they had everything ready for him. It was all done. There are so many things that I like about this placement so far. One is there is somebody with my husband at night, awake and watching, in case anyone needs anything or gets upset. The first couple of nights, he didn't sleep there, which he had in the other home, and was up all night. They went in and they sat with him and talked with him until he went back to sleep. Then they started trying to figure out how to help him with that, and finally, we figured out with him what was keeping him awake, and once that was corrected, he started sleeping through the night within 2 or 3 days. They were just very attentive. They have individual bedrooms. So that's one person in a bedroom. They have a maximum of eight people there. I was very impressed with the staff they had there. I like the setting. It's a very cheerful, happy, and pleasant place. They pay a lot of attention to the residents. They have made a big difference in him in only a couple of weeks. They do a lot of individual attention and they also have an open plan for the main area so that they can watch on big television, play games, or go there and watch what they're doing. Like if they're cooking for dinner or so forth. They can go over and look. They just have so many things. They have healthy snacks that the residents can get themselves if they want it. They try to help people. They've already helped my husband who was not reading, was not doing anything, and was not talking to anybody. Now, they have everything ready for him. He's reading the paper again. He's working on puzzles. He's playing checkers with one of the people that's there. There's a variety of things for them to do daily. They're close to Bridgeport, within driving distance and also to Fairmont. So, within three to twenty miles, those towns are located. Each person has a bedroom and it is decorated as to whatever that person is interested in. It has a TV in the room, a desk that they put in for my husband to use his computer, and a window in the room that they can look out to. It's pretty well planned for that person. You can bring anything you want to decorate the room. They have a nurse on call who can be there within three minutes no matter what time of the day. They've already brought my husband's sugar to normal. So, their food is healthy. There are little snacks all around the room that the residents can help themselves with that are healthy snacks like yogurt or fresh fruit and different things. They have very balanced meals. He eats everything that's on his plate."

"The staff at Pleasant Acres Christian Haven was nice. I liked that they seem to know what they were doing. The rooms and furniture were pretty good. They looked clean and neat. Although it's not quite as nice as some of the others and it looks more like a nursing home, it's organized and they have some activities to do. It was not real big. There are just about 12 or 14 rooms. They have an outdoor seating area, but nothing much extra."

"My grandmother has been placed at Wishing Well twice. Once from 2006 through 2008, and we've just recently placed her back there now because her condition has worsened and she is there still. The fact that we felt comfortable placing her there a second time should be testament to the quality of the care she has received. All of the nurses I've met have been very attentive, and always greet her by her first name in a friendly tone whenever they see her, even if it's just passing by in the hallways. The meals are quite good, as I have spent dinner with her on multiple occasions. Every Sunday they host some sort of social event for the residents like a dance or musical entertainment, and the hobby room has a well kept piano, card table, and a lot of literature. The grounds are very well kept as is the interior of the building and the rooms themselves. Although the rooms could be bigger and the atmosphere a bit brighter, I would certainly recommend Wishing Well to any family in need of assisted living care for a family member in the area."

"So far, we're very pleased with Wishing Well Assisted Living Community at Fairmont. My in-laws have been at this residence for three years now, so we chose to move my parents there, too, and we have just been very pleased with the care and the concern of the staff. They have just been fantastic. We like it. It is all on one floor with a nursing station in each building. They have different facilities on one campus and so we just like the whole layout of the place. They can't do enough for you. They're very kind. They get back to you immediately if you call with questions. They have things going on daily."

"My friend has already moved into Tygart Center at Fairmont Campus. It's very nice. We haven't been able to get in because of COVID. Hopefully all is well. My friend says everything is doing well. She loves the food. She has choices. She said everybody is treating her well. Nothing but good. They have been really good with her."

"I have had the pleasure of visiting this facility on several occasions. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a very pleasant atmosphere for the residents living there. They treat the residents like family which I found very impressive. Also, the hospital is very close to facility which is great. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who wants to ensure their loved one has the best care. "
