"We got my mom here. We have adjustments to make, but they have been very good to us. My mom's room is clean, the right size, and very nice. They come in if she needs anything and they offer a lot. The staff is friendly and helpful. My mom seems to enjoy the food."

"My father will be moving into the Oaks at Oakland Plantation. It's a newer facility, and of course more up-to-date and more modern. It's in a wooded area, it's very close to where I live, and based on some of the other facilities that I've seen, it's just a little bit nicer. The staff seems excellent, and they have nurses on staff. When you're looking as far as the pricing structure and the facility, they are very compatible with my father's needs, and the market that is out there. They have a movie theater, a barbershop, and numerous exercise rooms. There is a huge dining room area that is very nicely appointed, it's not right on top of one another because of the size of the facility. Also there are multiple activity rooms, a rehab center type thing room, and several TV rooms different from the theater that are onsite."

"The Willows of Cuthbert, The/Arbor has been bought out by another company, and they're really updating it; we're pleased with the changes. My sister is in assisted living, and I am very well pleased with it. They're going to bring on more staff as they get more residents. The staff is very good, professional, and kind. The pricing is fairly reasonable -- $2700 a month. She has an apartment with a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, a walk-in closet and a little kitchenette area. The grounds are very nice, and it's right off of a state route. They have a really nice patio-type area for the residents, and they have a screened-in porch for them if they want to go outside. It's very nice. The food is homemade and very good, and they keep the place and her apartment very clean. Right now, they don't have activity director, but they assured me they will be doing activities with them, and they have a van which could take them on day tours."

"My mom has been in Colquitt Alternative Care for two and a half years now. It's great. That's our hometown, so she's in her hometown and her community. I live in Tallahassee, I'm 65 miles from her, so we're not too far away. It's a great facility. They take really good care of her. The staff is friendly and caring. They treat all the residents like family. My mom's room is good. She's semi-private, so she does have a roommate, but it's a very large, spacious room. They both have full-sized beds, more than adequate clothing space, and their own suite bathroom, so it's a good room. It's an older facility and there are a few things they could probably work on, but it's only cosmetic, there's nothing anything wrong. They could make a few cosmetic updates. The food is fabulous. I've eaten their food on several occasions. If I'm there at lunch, I'll eat with her in the dining room. They get three meals a day, 8, 12, and 5 on the dot, and then snacks in between if they want them. The dining area is common right off the kitchen. It has four or five tables. It's nice. They have flowers on the table and everything's very sanitary. They have tablecloths, so it's very nice. It's like the kitchen, the dining area, and then there's a large living area that's all connected. They do things to stay active. My mom likes to walk, so she'll walk around the inside of the facility if it's not good weather. Sometimes she'll go out and they have a front porch and a back porch. She goes and sits on the porch quite often. Now and then, she'll walk around outside the facility. But primarily she's using the porches or just walking around indoors. She likes to do adult coloring books, and they play games. They have a game table, and they do stuff like puzzles, bingo, and checkers. I do wish they have a few more things that they could do. They don't have any planned activities for the residents. It is just stuff that they come up with on their own."

"Seymour Southern Comforts is a newer facility, probably 8 years old. This is owned by a single family. This is a home built on the side of the road. Much smaller, in a small country town, but assisted living and retirement center. 2 wings on each side with a big foyer in the middle. The rooms are probably a little better than average. Not as quite as elaborate as others. The dining area is very clean. They have church services and different artists from around the community come in and play. They have meetings, health talks, and bingo and all that. "
