"I felt that it was a little small, but it was very upbeat, and it was very cheerful. I was very pleased. That was where I think would be a great place for my parents at the time. I was very impressed with them. They were having an exercise class the day I was there. They have a little sewing area for women who want to sew because I know that that was something my mother would enjoy. They had a pool table, and one area was what you would call a man cave, where there were sofas and a big TV in there for a sports thing going. It was very nice. "

"My husband has moved into St. Bernards Villa. It's a beautiful place. They have gardens and things where they can walk around. The interior is well kept. Everything is kept up-to-date and modern, and the people are wonderful. We're satisfied. There's always a nurse on duty, and there are CNAs that help if he has a problem of any kind. They're very patient and kind. He gets a balanced meal. They have fresh salads. He likes most of the food. Once in a while there'll be something that he doesn't care for, but I can fix some things at home. There is usually a choice between two different entrees and desserts. He's diabetic, and they have sugar-free desserts for their diabetic residents. They have a schedule posted for different activities each day. From what I've seen, it's good. They also have physical therapy for those that need it, so right now he's going to be getting physical therapy. They have a movie on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. They have different things planned. They pick themes, and they'll carry the theme through the month, and it usually has something to do with what's going on. It seems very appropriate. When I compare it to what it would cost to stay in some of the other places, this is worth it. They have an apartment atmosphere, and he has a living room-kitchen combination. He has a separate bedroom and a separate bath, and there's plenty of room for him to get around with a walker. There are chairs and matching couches in the hallways if somebody just wants to sit down and visit or whatever. There are sitting areas everywhere. The hallways are wide enough to accommodate that and still have plenty of room. We're happy with the way everything worked out."

"In the beginning, my mother was in the independent living in St. Bernards Village for a couple of years and then I moved her to the other part which was the assisted living part. The independent living had one dining room and the assisted living had one dining room. Once in a while they got together for activities in the largest dining room. It was furnished beautifully. Although the food was nothing to write all about, it was tolerable sometimes. The staff was very nice. "

"We visited The Bungalows at Jonesboro, an assisted living community. I'll have a bedroom, a living room, and a kitchenette, and they're all really big. That's the reason I want to go there. The staff was generous. They're willing to show us around, and they're very polite. They asked us if there's anything we need because we have a lot of paperwork to do, but that is expected anywhere. They've called and talked to me a few times, saying the doctor wants me to come in for an annual checkup before I move in. They've been very helpful. They told me that you can order your own food from a menu that they have. You can circle what you want, and if you don't like anything, then you go directly to the kitchen and they will prepare what you want. They also offered us lunch during the visit. The food there looks good. They have church services, devotionals, and Bible studies, which is good because I'm a churchgoer. They have games like Bingo. They also have exercises and therapy deals. It's just a nice place. The rooms are all very clean, and they said they strip and do the beds at least once a week. If you need clothes cleaned, they would do it twice a week. They do their own laundry and everything. The rooms had a refrigerator and a microwave in their kitchenette."

"My mother has been a resident here for 4 years. I don't believe the owners or workers could be anymore caring than they already are now. There has been a few problems over the years but every issue has been resolved quickly. They treat the residence there like family. They make the visitors feel so welcome and a part of the big family they have there. I feel the workers think of what they do as more than just a job and this really shows. The way they let you eat with your loved one is so special. plus the food has always been so good. I would say restaurant quality. I feel so blessed we found this place for our mom when we could no longer give her the care she needed. "
