One of my lifelong friends lives at this facility, and it is a great place. The staff members are all real sweet and courteous, the meals are home-cooked- nothing like “nursing home” food you would expect. Plus, there is an open kitchen, dining and living area in every house (the 6 houses are spacious, really nice houses and only offer private bedrooms with private bathrooms/showers). They also have a lot of “socials” where they gettogether in one of the houses and have music and food or movies and popcorn, etc. I don’t think there is a better place to move your loved one into. Most places require shared rooms, and at least shared bathrooms, but luckily that is not the case at this nursing home. Other than the fact that the facility in and of itself is really nice, pretty and recently built, the care provided to my friend is great. They always have an RN on staff, but often it’s RNs that are taking care of her, not just a med nurse. They check out every little cough and seem to keep a very close eye on her health. Let’s face it, her health is her top priority at this point in life, and the staff there seem to have the same viewpoint for all the residents. They stay in close contact with her family by calling and having face to face meetings with her whole care team to go over progress, changes, and making sure they are all on the same page. I just can’t express how much better this place is compared to the other two she was previously in.

A close friend of mine is a resident at this facility, and I feel like I can rest assured at night knowing she is well taken care of, safe, and in good hands. She tells me the staff don’t just put on a fake front when I am there visiting her, they are always kind and attentive to her needs, and nursing does their best at taking preventative care measures to ensure her optimal health. The facility itself is beautiful, and none of the cottages I have been to have ever had an odor of urine or feces, so I don’t completely believe the writer who said the smell was awe full -not one bit! I always enjoy the meals, and so does my friend. It doesn’t taste or look anything like cafeteria or other nursing home food; it’s more like good southern, home-cooking. Also they are always having “socials” and other little parties where they all go to one cottage and eat and fellowship with the other residents. I can’t say much negative about this place, only positive experiences from my perspective.

The facility is a relatively new facility and is unlike any other I have ever seen in our area, or anywhere else for that matter. It is a facility made up of 8 multi-elder cottages. The cottages are like big houses where the residents have their own bedrooms, fully equipped with a private bathroom, flat screen tv, and bedroom furniture. Within the homes, unlike other assisted living facilities, there is a large, open kitchen and dining area. Family members are encouraged to come eat meals with their loved ones, help fix meals their family members enjoy, etc. The Shabbaz, CNAs who are trained in many more complex areas than regular CNAs such as dietary procedures, do everything from the cooking to assisting with the elders. They have regular people who work in specific cottages, like a regular home setting. They try to put the elders in cottages together that will best get along so they can all help support each other and keep each other company. It is a very welcoming facility that is family friendly and isn't as gloomy or "scary" as most nursing homes. I definitely give it 5 stars!
