To the Family at Rich Mountain Nursing & Rehab: My wife and I just wanted to take a moment to share our gratitude and thankfulness to the entire staff at Rich Mountain Rehab. They say it “takes a village to raise a child”. We feel that it also takes a village to provide care and assistance to the folks at the end of their lives, too. And Rich Mountain Rehab worked collectively on all shifts to make that village a possibility. Although several members of your organization stand out at your facility, it would just be unfeasible for us to acknowledge everyone since there were so many that demonstrated love and compassion. The housekeeping crew, the Nursing staff, the CNA's, Hospice, the administrative personnel, the laundry crew, the cafeteria workers, the drivers, the maintenance crew.....we can go on and on about how EVERYONE gave their all to provide a family-type of environment. The last time our Uncle went to the hospital, he stated very loudly and repetitively: “I want to go back to my friends.” These friends he was talking about was the staff family at RMNR, and he was truly blessed to count all of you as friends and family.....and we feel the same way, too. Thank you for all you did and may our God richly bless you and your families forever. M&B Graves

My husband has been in Rich Mountain Nursing & Rehab Center since January, and I don’t like it at all. They don’t know how to treat Alzheimer's patients to begin with. They have a button to push if he needs help. He cannot remember that button and what it’s for because of his Alzheimer's. He lies in his bed, and he yells at them that he needs to go to the bathroom. They feed him 3 times a day, but they treat him like he can’t remember. He used to have therapy but because he couldn’t remember from one day to the next and what he did the day before, they quit having therapy. There are no LPNs or CNAs; they need more help, but they are on a shoestring budget. They need to hire more people and give them more training. They have an activity director. This morning, they all had donuts, and when the weather is cool enough, they go out on the front porch and play games.
