The best thing I liked about Des Arc Nursing & Rehabilitation Center was that they have two secure units, one for the men and one for the women. That to me was very important. The people were very friendly and they fixed homestyle food. The grounds were nice and the inside was very nice as well. It kind of reminds me a little bit of a country home. It's got a big seating area outside for the residents and rocking chairs. It's like a Southern front porch. It's about 30 miles from our home, which was much closer, and that would have been my choice for my husband had they had an opening. It's a very nice facility. The woman who actually does the admissions was not available to show me around, but one of her staff did, and that young woman was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. It was just a nice visit. I felt really good about it. It was clean. It didn't smell and the residents looked well cared for.
