My mom stayed at Oak Manor during the time that she had a UTI. She was there for a little while, but she was very unhappy there. As soon as she was OK, they released her to go home. The rooms were fairly of decent size, and they came with nightstands, a dresser, closet, and a bathroom. My mom wasn’t really satisfied with the food -- maybe because she was not happy there -- and they did have a lot of activities.

In less than 30 days: 86 year old mom fell to concrete floor, an employee pilfered through mom's purse and personal items, she was groped by another patient, and then they dumped her out of their facility to another hospital without any of her personal items. We live in Dallas and had to send someone to retrieve them. Oak Manor has a lot of room for improvement. They need to be audited, the place is a dump and they need to provide better care.

So disappointed to have my first experience with this place to be so negative. I sent flowers from out of state to a loved one and she didn't know she received them because the flower shop is prohibited from placing the flowers in patients rooms and a staff member just stuck them behind the tv, where she could not see them. When asked about this they were unfriendly and uncooperative, hiding behind HIPPA laws. This could have gone much better, They came across to be lazy and uncaring.
