Sylacauga Health and Rehab Services

I want to give a shout out to the Sylacauga Health and Rehab for a wonderful caring facility for those in our community who need long-term nursing care and for those in need of temporary rehabilitation. I have visited several friends through the years in the facility. Some who were there for health reasons and some for rehabilitation. Each time I've entered the reception area, I've been welcomed by friendly staff and volunteers. The air is freah, the rooms are neat and clean, and the staff encouages the residents to bring personal belongings from home to make them comforatable during their stay. Fun actitivities and special events are provided for the residents and families to interact with each other. It is a happy place!!

We have placed my father into Sylacauga Health & Rehab. All I know is that it is a really nice place, and they have plenty of activities for their residents. His room is nice and cozy. While I was there, they had a religious activity. They have different activities. My father said that the food is OK.

They have numerous activities but I am not pleased with the care that my loved one receives. The staff are not honest and makes excuses. They say they will check on certain things but so far it is not happening (major roach problem); maintenance on bathroom; for 6 hrs a person was not checked on and not receiving help with bathing, bed went over a week and half for sheet change (I changed it and they never knew it). They cannot make up their own bed but the pt tries and is unable to do so. I do it when I go everyday in the late afternoon. I am not pleased at all with the care they have given. Shower was not given for over a week and the pt. sponged off in a wheelchair (unable to use left leg. I only gave it a three b/c rehab therapy and activities are the only thing I have found that is worth stars.
