"Greenville Memory Care was a nice place. I was impressed with the fact that both my parents could be together in the same place. It looked like a good friendly place. My father is more of an outdoorsy person, and they didn't have a lot of staff to take them outside. It was also really noisy, so I don't think they would have been happy there. They had a nice porch. The staff were all nice. It was a really friendly atmosphere, and everybody was really nice. As far as that goes, it was good."

"The person I spoke to who took me through Greensprings was extremely kind and very knowledgeable. It was a very small facility. They had a mini fridge but no microwave. Also there wasn't any place for residents to store their snacks. The place was very clean and homey. I didn't try any meals, but all the residents said that they were good. I saw several tables for dominoes, but that's not something that Mom does."

"Oak Grove Inn had a sink and a refrigerator and a little kitchen area in the room. I really liked it, and it's the best out of the ones we visited. It's out of the city. It's quiet and secluded out by itself. There are houses around, but not right up against the nursing home. You go through locked gates going in, so it's very secure. It was very nice. One of the men that's on the board showed us around and told us everything there was to tell. They had a nice sunroom that you could go and sit in, which was air-conditioned. They had such a small closet for a couple to live in. The facility was very nice and to me it was A+. They had 3 meals a day. It's very clean. The people were so friendly. They have buildings with different degrees of people, but they were all just so friendly. We stopped by the dining hall, and there were a bunch of ladies sitting and talking. We stopped and talked to them, and they're very friendly and they said they love it there. We met a couple, and they each have an apartment there next door to each other."

"We placed mom at The Gables at Charlton Place Assisted Living two years ago. She's on the assisted living side. It's nice. They keep it all nice and clean. Her room is pretty big. There's plenty of room for her to navigate around in a wheelchair. The staff is doing better now. There was another lady there that they let go or something happened there, but they've changed up a little bit, so things are better than they were for a little while there. They do movies, they have ice cream, they have a piano, and sometimes they have people play. I think they do a shopping thing with them, too, so they keep a lot going on for entertainment. They do good on the food. I haven't had any complaints from her, maybe once or twice over a long period of time, so they do good on that."

"I visited Country Cottage. It was very adequate and very well done. They're very hospitable. The apartments were very well laid out and nicely accommodated. However, I think Country Cottage was a little bit more industrial and a little bit less of a home feeling than the other one. "

"I am a resident at the Crossings at Eastchase. I like the activities here, meeting new people, the transportation benefits, the library, and the movie theater. The staff here is just wonderful. They are dedicated and very kind. They have a nice dining roomand the food is good. The dining room is very comfortable with plenty of room to sit wherever you want and with whomever you want. The only suggestion I have is they should have more dining room staff."

"My grandmother stayed at Orchard Healthcare Center for five days. I was pleasantly surprised with how attentive their staff was and how they were willing to reach out to me constantantly to update me. The environment seemed a lot more homely than other nursing homes that I've toured. It seemed remotely clean in most of the common areas. My grandmother came home in good spirits, happy, and in good health, so I won't complain. They help with bathing, dressing, medicine, and lunchtime. My grandmother had Medicare insurance that paid for her."

"My husband is in Crowne Health Care of Greenville. It's been very nice. I can only visit in the courtyard because of COVID. The staff is very nice. Everything has changed with COVID going on. They have activities and things for them to do, but they're not doing it right now. The facility is very nice, very well kept. They have a patio."

"The care with which my grandmother resident at John Knox Manor receives is exceptional. After losing mobility from the result of a stroke, she was placed in the staff's loving hands. The facilities, although an older building, have been restored extensively putting my grandma in excellent conditions. Her room is very decent and even includes her own personal bathroom and kitchen. There are always activities for her to do, which she thoroughly enjoys. A nurse goes to her room about once a day just to check up on her and her physical therapist is in house. Even the food, which is served twice daily, is actually quite delicious. The grounds of John Knox include multiple walking paths as well as a gazebo and several porches outfitted with rocking chairs. Many birdfeeders also adorn the grounds, which allows for a variety of birds, something that made my grandmother's transition a little bit easier. Overall, John Knox Manor is a caring facility that places the utmost importance on its residents. I would highly recommend John Knox to any senior needing a helping hand. "

"The Gardens of Waterford is an older facility, but they have renovated it. The inside lobby area, the gathering area, and the dining area looked good. It's one level. The staff was good, and accommodating, called me back, and asked what my interest was, telling me if I wanted to, I could bring other family members over to look at it. From an accommodation point of view and from the attitude of the staff itself, they were very good. They're in the process of changing management, so they're doing some renovations. In one of the rooms I looked at, they were updating and painting it. They are working on upgrading their rooms and the rooms were larger than the other place for the price. A $4500 room at the other place is a little smaller than the $3800 room at the Waterford."

"My husband is in Capitol Hill. It's clean and he's clean, and I haven't had any problems. The people I came in contact with who work with him do a good job. There's a nursing shortage, but I'm pleased with the care and the service. He is on a pureed diet, and they're trying to get physical therapy with him even though some days he will and some days he won't. They have religious services, and they take him to those and have group activities, too. He hasn't tried to get out of bed and walk by himself. They're always there working with him to the fullest and will let me know right away if anything happens. I'm pleased with their work."

"My mother went through rehab at the Golden LivingCenter, and it was very good. I was very happy with them. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and very encouraging. Their rehab staff was very competent. They’re undergoing construction right now, but except for that, everything is just lovely. Their rehab is one of the few that have private rooms for their rehab patients; and on the long-term end, their nursing home offers private rooms, which were what we were the most interested in. The food was OK, but it would really take a lot of money to have a menu so diverse that everybody would be happy. "

"Our experience with Helping Hands was good. The food was good. They had outings, but they did not allow pets, and my mom had a little dachshund that must be cared for. The room was one, big room. She would have to down-size her bed, but there was a lot of closet space. The bathroom was a little small, but it was doable. The kitchenette was OK. It was a bit pricey, but I would recommend it if you had plenty of money. "

"The residents of CaraVita Village, along with its staff, were very, very inviting and cordial. It had a very kind atmosphere and they were just very welcoming and caring. I don't ever recall being anywhere with that kind of atmosphere. It was very inviting. From the very first time I walked in, I looked at the lady who was giving the tour and she was just warm. She was very kind, really personable, and made me feel as if they love to have me living with them. There's a camaraderie that I've never seen anywhere else. Residents loved her, too. So, it's fantastic. I saw several apartments and they were very roomy, very clean, and well kept. They care for the property with such high regard. They have a community life there where they have a calendar of activities for the residents all the time (on a daily basis or week by week). They put on parties for birthdays, movie nights, reading activities, and a nice library for those people who are interested in that as well (which I think is really great because I love to read). They also have sewing and knitting for some of the women. There's a lot of art going on there. As an artist myself, that spoke to me. It's great. Her attention to detail and representing CaraVita Village as a caring community were top-notch. I had a very nice meal there. It's well prepared and nutritious, and the staff were wanting to serve you, wanting to be the best that they could be and put on a very good impression (not just impression but showing you that this is what you can expect daily). The facilities were clean and there were very lovingly kept gardens in the yard. The grounds were just very immaculate."
