I have observed one of the care givers/home health theropist from this facility work with my mother. Just having some one who cared about my mothers rehab on her knee made a big difference. My mother looked forward to the theropist coming and put forth more effort to start walking again.

My wife is bedridden, muscles atrophied due to lengthy hospital and skilled nursing home stays. Cannot get out of bed without my help to get her on a bedside commode. Signed up for Mays Home Health Care the day she was discharged from the nursing facility, took 4 days for their nurse to come out to evaluate her. She was scheduled for a care provider to come out twice a week for a half hour to 'help' her take a shower, and a physical therapist to also come out twice a week. Due to her condition, showers were out of the question, and only a half hour therapy session twice a week would not be near enough to help her regain strength in her legs. As a result we hired a private care giver, but that failed as well as that person only helped get her on the commode a few times over the weekend, then sat and played games, texted, and slept. As a result of lack of needed care she suffered an irreducible umbilical hernia requiring another trip to the ER. I can only say that Barbara at Mays was very helpful and caring, but the services offered there were not sufficient for my wife's needs.
