My husband is getting hospice care from ProMedica Hospice (Sedalia). There is a whole team. There are several nurses, a chaplain, and a social worker, and then they have volunteers. So far, they've all been just wonderful. One just now left and he is the first person that was with my husband. He is now coming three times a day instead of twice a day. This is completely paid for by Medicare. Everything is just taken care of. They give you supplies, and they provide underwear. My husband right now has three bad places on his bottom, and they have all of the medication, bandages, and cleaning stuff to use. They're checking his oxygen, and so now it has dropped. They have him on oxygen now, and that all got brought out and set up. I don't have to do anything. I even have the pharmacy deliver the meds to me. I live out in the middle of nowhere in the woods and about 6.4 miles from the town of Sweet Springs where the pharmacy is, and they deliver to me. The service, in my opinion, is just excellent. Once a week, they also send a bath aide, and that's all she does. She comes in and showers him and makes sure he gets oral care. She comes on Tuesday, so she'll be here tomorrow.
