We weren't satisfied with A First Name Basis Home Care. I was very unhappy with the service I picked. They were supposed to bathe my wife, prepare her meals, do light housekeeping, provide assistance to get her from her medical bed to the bedside commode, and provide companionship, but the young ladies that were there spent most of their time on their cell phone unless my wife specifically had a request. They were not proactive. There were a few caregivers that were exceptional, and one of them was 63-years-old. Unfortunately, they rotate the girls out so we didn't really have a choice about who we got. The last person that we had broke my wife's electric lift chair and denied that she did it. After weeks of withholding payment, they finally paid 50% of the cost of replacing the chair, all the while denying that their caregiver broke the chair and all the while reiterating that it was not a brand-new chair. There was nothing wrong with the chair at the beginning of the caregiver shift and at the end of the shift, when she left, I discovered that the chair was unusable and I had to replace it.
