In 2009 my grandmother became very sick with lung cancer. She went from being on her feet to bedridden in a matter of weeks. She lived 26 miles away from the nearest clinic or hospital so we made the decision to move her to Hospice. The center was simply amazing. It was spotlessly clean and beautiful. It was decorated to give residents some joy in their day, and each holiday had new decor. The Christmas tree was beautiful. The staff there were helpful and compassionate. They were always there to give my grandma what she needed, to check on her, and to support her through her illness. They were there to help and comfort families too, constantly asking if we needed anything for grandma or ourselves. The meals there were carefully prepared and made the residents feel more at home, and less like they were eating airline food. The staff there were fun and understanding. I remember they let us have a party for grandma in their lobby - and all the staff came to show my grandma how much they cared about her. They popped in and out to show their support while still being attentive to other residents. I give this care facility 10 stars out of five.
