Although the average hourly rate for home health care statewide is $27.63, it doesn’t mean the average hourly cost is the same in every city. Genworth’s survey includes a limited number of Oklahoma cities, but there’s a broad range of average rates between them.

Based on 44 hours of care weekly, Lawton has the lowest hourly rate at $21.66 or $3,813 per week. Conversely, Oklahoma City has the highest average hourly cost at $28.44 or $5,005 weekly. The difference between the two works out to nearly $7 per hour. Enid mirrors the state average, while Tulsa is just under it at $27.08 hourly or $4,767 per week. 

How Do Home Health Care Costs In Oklahoma Compare to Nearby States?

Of the six states that share a border with Oklahoma, all but one have a lower per-hour average cost for home health care compared to the Sooner State. Based on 44 hours of care per week, Arkansas has the lowest average cost at $23.84 hourly or $4,195 per week, nearly $4 less per hour than Oklahoma. Texas’ average price jumps to $26 per hour or $4,576 weekly, and $1.63 lower than Oklahoma’s hourly rate. 

New Mexico, at $26.43 hourly or $4,652 per week, is close to Kansas’s cost of $26.54 hourly or $4,671 per week. However, both states are still lower than Oklahoma’s average by about $1 per hour or around $200 weekly. Missouri’s average hourly rate of $27.08 or $4,767 weekly puts it closest to Oklahoma’s average. This leaves Colorado with the highest hourly average of $36.29 or $6,387 weekly, nearly $9 more per hour and $1,525 higher per week than Oklahoma.
