Consumer Ratings for In-Home Care Services Determine “Caring Stars of 2019”

San Mateo, CA; Dec. 6, 2018 — The nation’s largest website for senior care reviews, Caring.com today announced its annual list of the best in-home care agencies -- the Caring Stars of 2019 -- determined using consumer ratings and reviews.

For 2019, this industry-leading recognition was awarded to 446 top-rated agencies in 45 states and Puerto Rico, with California, Texas, and Florida having the most winners. Locally, the top 3 areas with the most-winners include: in-home care agencies in Cook County (IL), in-home care agencies in Los Angeles County (CA), and in-home care agencies in Orange County (CA).

Originally launched in January 2012 as the first of its kind, the Caring Stars annual list has become the go-to guide of the best senior care providers nationwide – particularly helpful after families gather for the holidays and discover increased or urgent needs for their elderly parents or grandparents. To be recognized as a Caring Star of 2019, in-home care agencies had to meet all of the following criteria:

• Have an overall average rating of 4.5 stars or higher (on a scale of 1 to 5) by October 15, 2018;
• Have 10 or more consumer reviews on their Caring.com listing by October 15, 2018;
• Have 3 or more reviews on their listing dated between October 15, 2017 - October 15, 2018, including at least one that was posted during 2018 and at least one that had a 5-star rating; and
• Respond to any/all negative (1-star or 2-star) reviews on their listing.

Many of this year’s in-home care agency winners achieved a high volume of reviews by taking advantage of Caring.com’s partnership and reviews software integration with Home Care Pulse. The 2019 list for home care also includes “Caring Super Stars,” which are agencies who’ve earned the award for three years.

The Caring Stars award can be achieved by any licensed in-home care agency or senior living community with a profile in Caring.com’s nationwide directory. Additionally, the consumer reviews on Caring.com are fully visible to anyone on the web.
