Buying Hearing Aids from Unitron

Unitron does not sell its hearing aid products directly from its website. Individuals interested in purchasing Unitron hearing aids must purchase their products through a licensed authorized dealer. Customers can work with a dealer approved by the company in order to take advantage of Unitron’s warranty coverage or run the risk of buying an unverified product without protection. There is a search tool on the Unitron website to “find a hearing care professional near you,” which displays suggested providers customers can work with. Customers can also find authorized websites online.

Most qualified providers will require an appointment and hearing test to help customers select the right model for their needs. The hearing aids are then customized and programmed with the appropriate settings as determined by the results of the hearing test before being shipped to the hearing professional’s office or customer’s home within 7-14 days. Depending on where the hearing aids are purchased, the hearing specialist will provide ongoing support and offer regular setting adjustments and general help during the lifetime of the device.

Unique to Unitron is the FLEX Experience. Without making any purchases or putting any money down, customers can bring home hearing aids and try them out in the real world for 14 days. During the trial, their hearing professional will collect real-time data and check in regularly if any problems or negative experiences are reported. After the trial, users will have another appointment with their specialist and determine if the device is the right fit or if they need to choose another model. The FLEX Upgrade program allows for easy upgrades down the line if customers wish to enhance their features after purchase.

Unitron’s Mobile App and Accessories

Mobile Apps:

  • Unitron Remote Plus: Customers who use a Moxi All hearing aid model are able to use this app to control their volume, balance, and program settings. Available in both the Apple and Google Play app stores, this app can also send performance reports to a hearing care provider to track progress and provide further insight through data collection.
  • uHear: Available only on Apple devices, the uHear app offers users a self-administered hearing test that assesses hearing sensitivity and the ability to understand speech in loud environments. Users are then prompted to fill out a hearing questionnaire. As a personal assessment tool used for self-evaluation only, this app was not designed to replace professional hearing tests.

Unitron Accessories:

  • Microphone: Unitron’s lapel microphone streams directly to the user’s hearing aids, enhancing speech for a one-on-one conversation.
  • Remote Control: The remotes offered by Unitron are designed for users to discreetly adjust their volume and program settings without having to touch or take out their hearing aids.
  • Connector: Unitron offers both TV and media connectors for their hearing aids. Users can directly stream media from devices such as TVs, mobile phones, MP3 players, and FM receivers.
  • Charger: Customers can purchase extra or replacement charger cases for select models with lithium-ion rechargeable batteries.
  • Power Pack: The Unitron power pack can hold up to one additional charge, allowing users to charge their case on the go without an outlet.

Unitron Hearing Aid Warranties and Repairs

Unitron does not disclose any specific warranty terms on its website. The warranty section does state that there is comprehensive coverage available to protect against failure, damage, and loss. However, this coverage is all dependent on which country the device was purchased in and determined by the policies of the retail provider. Most hearing aid warranty coverage lasts up to a year and will cover the issues mentioned above under certain circumstances, sometimes requiring a deductible.

As stated previously, the FLEX Experience from Unitron is offered by some providers on select hearing aid models, providing a type of risk-free 14-day trial. Details and availability are subject to the hearing aid retailer.
