Residences at Chestnut Ridge is very clean and very well maintained. The staff seems friendly and knowledgeable. They seem concerned about their residents, and they answer any question my mother has. She always wants to leave, so it's hard for them to have to deal with that issue, but they're very patient with her. Her room is shared because there was no single room available. They have group activities, art, a little cafeteria, a lounge where there's coffee and cookies, and a TV area. She's not crazy about the food.

The walk-through and the tour at Chestnut Ridge was pretty good. The two apartments that they showed us were nice. The amenities that come along with being in a senior care facility like that, such as the dining facility, the commonly shared areas, and the sitting areas were all kept clean and maintained. You had a reception area that was wide open, and not congested. When I first went in there before I set this meeting up, the receptionist was warm and welcoming. So, it was a good experience. Marissa, I believe she's the manager of the place, she did do a walk around with us. She was the one that conducted the tours. She was very informational, provided all the information, and answered all our questions to our satisfaction. They showed us two different apartments. One was larger than the other, so we can get an idea of the type of space that was available. She showed me the dining area. There was a space that was off the back of the building, where you can dine on a large patio overlooking the back of the building. It has a wooded area in the back that's maintained up to the edge of the woods by the establishment. It's pretty nice, I imagine that's going to be beautiful during the spring when the trees and the leaves start coming back in.

Chestnut Ridge seemed a little bit dated, but the rooms they had were bigger. If I had the means, I would have my dad there. It's a comfortable place. The dining area was nice. Melissa was excellent. They showed me their calendar of activities, which includes going out once a week to different restaurants or the casino. That was nice. When I was there, some people were waiting for a gentleman that came to sing to all of them.

I went to visit Chestnut Ridge, it was nice. But they didn't have any units in my mom's price range. It was very clean and modern, and the rooms were roomy. The people who work there were very warm and seemed very caring, they make all your food for you in the cafeteria. Everything was just nice, and even the people there were nice. When it comes to the residents, they had a mixture of people with different levels of care that were needed, it just seemed like a very nice and warm atmosphere. And the way it's laid out was nice. I saw their independent and assisted living, and they also have low-income people who can rent places there too. They give you the microwave and there's a little kitchenette with a sink. They told me I'd have to bring a bed, dresser, chair, and a lamp. They also said that if you don't have it, you can also rent it from them. In assisted living, people are watching you and there's no cooking inside the rooms, all your three meals are provided in the cafeteria. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there are two sittings per meal. You can also have your meal brought to your room but there's an extra charge for that. They have different levels of care which add onto the bill, but I would have been able to place mom there for $3,050 a month, and I would feel like she was in good hands. Melissa was the one who took me around, she's wonderful, very warm, and very easy to talk with. She's really good. The facility itself was very modern and the rooms were nice, it's like living in a hotel.

My wife and I will be moving into Chestnut Ridge. It's beautiful, and it's less rent for more stuff. They have all kinds of programs there. The facility is in tree-lined suburban Chester, it's very quiet, with no loud music, no race, and nothing down the street. It's not far from the mall and within reach of financial institutions and food supermarkets, and they have a bakery. All week long, every day they have a program for senior citizens. They give you a copy of what will be going on every day, seven days a week. They have activities, a bistro, and parking for anyone that has a vehicle. They have art classes, and drawing and coloring contests. They have programs for people that don't have cars where they can get paratransit to take them shopping, and to doctors. They have brain enhancement to help your memory. It's just totally beautiful, and I see why it's a hidden gem in Chester. We will have an apartment; the design and floor plans are beautiful.

I will be moving into Chestnut Ridge. They are very clean, very orderly, very friendly, and very sociable. Both the residents and the staff are very friendly. It's well-designed for someone in a wheelchair or someone who's walking. The room has its own kitchen and bath, a living room, a bedroom, and ample closet space. They have an exercise room and an onsite driver and van for local travel. They also have additional rooms for a small gatherings, like playing cards, or some other activity with the residents. They have a meal plan. When I got there, they were revamping some of the apartments and some of the common spaces. It's very clean and very well-kept. It looks like a hotel, it's very nice.

Chestnut Ridge welcomed us during our tour. We liked what we saw. We liked the cleanliness of the facility and how the apartments were very well put together for us seniors. Everything was so smooth, clean, and nice. It was such a beautiful, bright apartment where the sun could shine in and I could have my plants grow beautifully. It's got a stove, a refrigerator, and closet space. The staff was very helpful, very courteous to us, and gave me time to fill out the applications. I noticed the residents were pleasant, too. They even greeted my husband and me. They made us feel good.

I toured Chestnut Ridge. It's affordable and very clean. The staff are very nice. I even went to the side of the assisted living care, and they were very nice there, too. Independent living has bingo and I know that the assisted living has movie night because I was there the day that they had a movie night. They have different occasions like turkey dinners around Thanksgiving or Christmas or stuff like that. They have a cafeteria, so you could get meals there all the time. There's a few options and they make it very easy for you to make a decision. It's very nice. I recommend it highly. They were all very nice, even the residents were very friendly. For the food, they have options that you could choose from. You pay monthly fees and it's one meal or two meals. You can go down and have lunch or dinner. They have a laundry room on every floor. They also show you where the exits and entrances are for emergencies. I very much enjoyed it. I'm hoping that we have a good fit. It looks wonderful.

Residences at Chestnut Ridge is a very well-kept place. It's clean and it looks like they have a lot of activities and things for the residents to do. The apartment had a nice layout with a very good view. I liked that they provide a good meal plan that's affordable, so they don't have to worry about cooking if they don't have to. They also have on-site physical therapists, a workout center, and a little pavilion walkway in the back where you can walk around. The staff was very helpful, very nice, and very courteous as well.

We toured Residences at Chestnut Ridge for my mother and aunt, and they liked it. They liked the price of the room and board, we lived around the corner from that place, and mother liked the room. They had a little kitchenette, and if you wanted to come down and eat, you could for a fee, but they don't have too many activities. It was clean, the room was a nice size, and so my mother was happy with it. They had a therapist on site, and the staff was really nice.

Residences at Chestnut Ridge was gorgeous, but we couldn't afford it. It was very nice, very inviting, the people were friendly, the staff was very informative, and could tell us about the actual benefits my aunt could actually get. The rooms were clean and tidy, and it's really a very nice place. They were able to get a bus to go to church, play bingo every day, and have a movie night.

Residences at Chestnut Ridge was pretty good and clean. The people were very attentive and very nice. The staff who toured us was very pleasant. The food was excellent. The dining area was well lit, and they take care of you. They play ball word games, and the piano, and have sing-alongs.

My tour at Residences at Chestnut Ridge was nice. It's a nice and clean building, about 20 years old. The people were very nice and the apartments were really nicely sized. It's also very inexpensive. They had independent living and assisted living so in case my sister needs to go to assisted living, she can stay right there. They had a menu that you can select from. I don't think they had enough activities and I think they could offer more. They had a coffee bar and made fresh pastry for them.

My mother stayed at Residences at Chestnut Ridge for a month in a respite capacity and we really liked the place. Everybody was great. The dining area looked very good. The rooms were updated and very nice. They had different kinds of group activities. It would be top of the list, but the price is a little bit over our budget.

Residences at Chestnut Ridge has been very good. The building is beautiful, well-run, immaculately clean, and looks pretty. The staff that deals with us is very nice. There's someone always on call. There's a really good communication system and there's a check-in system every morning. You just press a button in your bathroom and if you don't, they come up and check on you to make sure you're OK. I live on the independent floors, which are four floors in the building. It's really very nice and I'm very pleased with everything. It seems like everything is in good shape and well taken care of. There are plenty of activities and you can never really do everything. They have shopping, a theater, and they go out to eat. They have a full schedule so you can never be lonely or alone. The value is very good and within my budget, which is not very big. Their prices are very reasonable here. It's the best place I've seen and for the price it is good value. It's a nice place to live.

Most of the staff members are very nice. Very friendly. But as far as the building goes, it's not great at all. My mother has been without a toilet, refrigerator, and cold water in the kitchen sink for over 48 hours. The toilet had been running for weeks, and the fix to stop it from overflowing is to shut off the water and have her use a bucket! And this is considered acceptable.

We moved mom into Residences at Chestnut Ridge. It's beautiful, inside it's really nice, and it's well-decorated. She gets round the clock care, she likes everyone, and the staff is very nice, and younger. There's a lot of turnover. The food is not healthy, there's not a lot of options for diabetics, but she likes it. They have a lot of activities, they have a whole room for games and puzzles. They have a board in the lobby that tells you what's going on. They go out every Friday to go eat, or to go to Walmart.

Do NOT send your loved one here if they need true professional medical assistance with daily living. They are extremely inexperienced and unprofessional as far as true personal care, and it is not a safe environment. The elevator has been broken for a year. There is a reason they are so pushy with their sales pitch and why they are cheaper than other places.

My mother is at the Residences at Chestnut Ridge. They keep them engaged with different activities, like exercise, singing, reading the newspaper and current events, and baking. They have different stations, too, like there's a work bench for men and a vanity for the women.

Residences at Chestnut Ridge was a high-rise facility. We did not like the fact that they do not have access to the outside when they are in the memory unit because they are on a high floor. The elevators seemed small and old. The rooms are private, which is nice, and they looked clean. The staff who gave us the tour was friendly and helpful.

We visited Chestnut Ridge. We liked the place and the rapport of the place very much. The staff was very nice, very informative, and very cordial. They had a number of things going on when we were there. They also had a Christmas party going on. The person that showed us the place was very knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions, and I did get answers. They didn't hide anything. I checked them out, and what they told me was factual.

My mom is at Residence at Chestnut Ridge, and they have been taking care of her very well. She is in a nice room, but sometimes when I visit her there it doesn’t smell good as she is a little incontinet. As far as her medications and meals, they do stay on top of those things.

I love the Residences of Chestnut Ridge, and it is where my father is currently is now. I love the staff and the way they communicate. It is just so wonderful. It's a high-rise building, and the rooms are nice, but the bottom line with everything is the staff. They do have activities, and my dad participates in some of them.

My mom has been at Residences at Chestnut Ridge for three years now. This facility is very clean. If I could afford it, I would live there myself. The rooms are very nice. My mother is in like an apartment-type room where she is able to have her own living room and bedroom and there's even a little kitchenette. They serve three meals a day plus two snacks a day. They have numerous activities. They have a wellness center there on site where they administer her medicines for her. They also have a rehab facility there. For activities, they have arts and crafts, bingo, karaoke, etc. They would take them out to go to movies or to go to casino. They would also take them out for rides or for dinners, etc.

My mother has been a resident in the assisted living facillty At Chestnut Ridge since July 2012. Mom is in the beginning stages of altzheimers. She is not happy about being there, but her children know she is well being taken care of and safe. And most importantly loved by the staff. We are very happy with the care she receives, the facility itself. Its just a matter of time before she is moved to the altzheimers unit, but for now, the staff knows how important it is for Mom to feel she still has some independence left and works compassionitely with her to acheive it. I highly recommend Chestnut Ridge. 4 stars because I believe we can all do better somehow, in anything we do.

We visited Chestnut Ridge, but it wasn't what we're looking for. It's a nice place but my father would have to share his bedroom, and it's not what we're looking for him. But with regards to the staff I think they are pretty much doing great. The people who are living in the facility seems well taken care of. Their pricing was good but it wasn't good for my father to share room with others.

The facilities were pleasant and my great grandmother had a room on the grounds for a long time. They were accommodating with moving her from one room to another where she had better care after my great grandfather's death. She stayed in what I believe was an outpatient center on the grounds for some time, and the whole place seemed cozy and welcoming. There was a small grocery store there that sold crafts made by the residents, and the food at the cafeteria was very nice. My great grandmother was allowed to bring her piano with her from her home, and they kept it in the community room for her where she and others could play and enjoy it.

The staff seems nice and pleasant, and I feel that it is the right location and right facility for my uncle. We've tried the food and it was great! My uncle's room is fine and he's happy when he moved in.
