"when i first arrived in the facility that i mentioned i was surprised at the cleanliness. their was a ton of paper work i had to deal with as i applied to work their. i noticed the people who actually worked in the facility were obviously more poor type people. the actual nurses of course seemed to make a bit more money. the job that people had to do was tough but they seemed to somewhat be satisfied to help others. I did get the feeling alot of protocol was not being followed because they would say things to me on how to do this or that but i would see all kinds of workers doing it their own way. I certainly realized that its also a somewhat dangerous job as alot of people who need assisted living may have mental or phsycial impairments that can make them get violent or act out. I also feel these facilities can make a real difference for folks who would otherwise have to spend tons of time just taking care of these people. "

"We chose Golden Oaks Follansbee for my mother-in-law. They're taking very good care of her. The staff, the lady that owns the place, and everything have been great. Because of COVID, they are keeping her in her room a lot. She hasn't been there a month yet. I would recommend it because of the care. They're very, very caring, and they keep you informed of everything that's happening. It's a good place. I have not been inside because of COVID, but the outdoor space is good."

"The Inn at Northwood Village was a very nice place. You walk into a very nice open area with the fireplace, and then they had a little ice cream bar and a coffee bar. It was just really nice inside. The room I saw was nice and spacious. It was like a little three-part room, where it had a kitchen/dining area, a bedroom, and a living room area. The staff during the tour was very nice. They also did a bone density screen while we were there. The place was very new. They had a dining room, a beauty shop, and a little room for exercising. They had rooms for two people, single rooms, and smaller rooms."
