"The Parkwood is beautiful. It's new, clean, and fresh. The apartments are nice sized. They have full-service kitchens in them. The carpets are mainly in your bedroom. They have nice walk-in bathrooms and walk-in closets. The lady I met was very outgoing, friendly, and knowledgeable. She has a beautiful personality. They have a theater room, a chapel, and game rooms. They have all sorts of different rooms. It is three stories tall. You have outside doors on your apartments if you're downstairs. And upstairs, they have balconies. It's more like going to a fancy motel when you walk in the door. It is just beautiful. If somebody needs independent living, that would be a good place to go. Even some of the workers were very friendly."

"I toured the independent living of Trail Ridge Senior Living Community. It's more upscale than the other places I have visited. I understand the difference, though, because you'd have to buy in to get a place at Trail Ridge. You have to sell your home before you can move into a place like that. I like the place and its facilities. They have a pool and other different stuff. There are a lot of stuff that you have to pay for too. Like if you need assistance getting dressed or taking a shower, you might have to pay somebody to help you out. They have a lot of programs. They do shopping trips and tours. They do bingo and a lot of different things in the program. It's a huge community. They have independent living, assisted living, and I think memory care. I didn't see the staff other than the gentleman who showed me the place. He's alright, and he knows his business."

"My aunt is now in Sunnycrest Retirement Village. It has similar people with similar issues, but it's an apartment for retired folks. They have activities and buses to the grocery stores and other places. They have activities in different areas, they have mahjong, different kinds of puzzles, bowling, and church services. Their food is brought on from Meals on Wheels. The rooms are provided with a refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and a washer and dryer. My aunt is at the new tower that's part of the complex, and they have different levels of apartments that you can pick from. They adjust them according to your income. They have a lot of different courtyards."

"We had an in-person tour of The Inn on Westport. The staff members were friendly, and they knew their jobs. The place is immaculate. They have all of the amenities. They have church services. What we liked is that you didn't know that assisted and independent were different because you don't have to move from one wing to another. The facility is 26 years old, but it looked brand new. It's close to malls and not too far away from hospitals. The rooms are adequate."

"My husband is moving into Touchmark At All Saints. They have two levels of memory care, and he is going to the pre-memory care. They were just so warm, and we were impressed with them. Where he is going is not a locked facility. However, if he gets worse, then he will move into the locked area. It is just really good. I saw the menu, and I talked to another resident, and he said, "The food is great.""

"My mom is in the memory care of Dow Rummel Village. She started in an apartment in the assisted living area, which was a nice size with a bedroom and a bathroom, a little living area, and a kitchen area. And then after about a year, she was moved into the memory care unit, which is a little smaller. And the reason they do that is that they kind of forget where they're going and how to get around in a bigger room. So, she has a smaller room, but it's perfect for her. She's got a bathroom, an area for her couch and a TV, and then her bed. And the care is excellent. They've all been very, very good with her and she likes it there a lot. They have a big swimming pool. They do activities with them every day with like, exercise-type things. They have a nice exercise room. They have a community there where they have restaurants. You can go and sit at restaurants and eat with your loved ones if you want to. They have outdoor seating areas. People do their hair for them. The swimming pool and the workout area stuff are in the whole middle of the area. It's not in the market. So when we go to the memory care unit, that's all in the lockdown area. But they do exercises with them there. They have exercise activity time and they have a church there. They take them to church, they have a music area, they have concerts and stuff. They say my mom is very competitive."
