"We toured The Gallery at North Port. We liked the feel of it. It felt like a home more than a facility. The rooms were very spacious and I liked that they had a couple of outdoor spaces for the residents. They do have a beauty salon for hair and nails. I liked that they had people who came in and sang music. They also have a church service on Sundays, and a couple of days a week, they have Gospel music. It's something that my mom has been missing. The staff was very friendly. She came highly experienced with memory care patients. We saw their dining area and it looked like it had more of the appearance of a home."

"I have chosen here but I haven't moved in yet. The first thing we noticed when we went on a tour is how happy the people that were there in talking to each other and communicating. That was one of the big things. The price was another, and that was the second thing. They've been very helpful in helping me set up the room and anything else I needed. I'm happy with the size of my room. I don't need a lot, but it has a bathroom and a screened-in porch. I'm on the first floor. I've got furniture delivered there from Wayfair, and they said they'd handle it. And I'm going to have furniture moved down on the 15th from where I am, and they said to let them know and they'll have dollies out and things ready to move them to the room for me. All in all, they've been very, very, very helpful. The staff members have been very friendly. Everybody speaks to me and introduces themselves. They're very, very nice. They have a laundry room on the second floor, and they have a library, which is important to me. They even told me if I knew when the TV was coming, they were going to connect it for me. And my tour was complete."

"I had an in-person tour of Parkside Assisted Living and Memory Care. It wasn't like a resort. It was like a very nice assisted living facility with many amenities. They provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The staff was very thorough, accommodating, and welcoming. They were a little expensive and kind of small for me."

"I am a volunteer at Brookdale Punta Gorda. I choose to spend my time here due to its amazing staff and residents! It’s a smaller community and the staff care for the residents like they are their own relatives! It’s delightful to see some of the relationships that are in place. As for me, I enjoy the variety of folks that live there. Some have become dear friends! They are always so excited to see me and we have a blast just chatting - the stories of the full lives of these folks are a delight to listen to. I think Brookdale PGI is a gem in our quaint town!"

"We were very pleased with Lexington Manor Assisted Living. The point person was very helpful, and we were impressed. The rooms were very nicely appointed. We did not choose to taste the meal. The person giving the tour was excellent. It seemed like they are very concerned about their residents. They were very loving, they knew them all by name, and they talked to them. It was a very good experience. They've got game rooms, and they've got music areas. They got everything that we would want Dad to have. The person that met us at the door was excellent, and the person that gave us the tour was excellent."

"I kind of liked Liana Venice, but I didn't like the fact that they really didn't have much outdoor space. It's one of my two favorites. It was a beautiful building, and the rooms were nice and clean. But if the guests or residents wanted to go outside, there was basically just a concrete-slab courtyard with the building around it. So there were not really any trees, greenery, or anything to look at. It was very affordable, and that was nice. The staff members were very amazing, very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. The rooms were very nice; they were clean and they were large. It's beautiful inside; the inside is gorgeous. It's just the outdoor space is lacking, and that's really the only thing. It was located conveniently off the interstate. It would definitely be a contender for me if it had more outdoor space."

"I was very impressed with Maris Pointe's memory care facility. The price is a little higher than I want to pay, but I like the feeling of it. I like the way the people are watched over, and I like that they have a good ratio of nurses to people because that's important. The person who gave the tour did a good job, and I appreciate her. The apartments are not beautiful, just normal, but that's also not what I'm looking for. I'm looking at nurses and how they treat the patients, and that's what I got out of that one. They seemed to take care of the patients well, and they had activities that the patients would use. The patients looked normal for where they were."

"My husband was in South Port Square in rehab. It has everything. It's real nice, but we couldn't afford it. If you went there to live, they have apartments. They have a dining room. You go there and eat in the dining room. The food was good there, even in the rehab. The staff was very good. The women who are interested do craft work there. They get together and do things, and they have entertainment. We like it being close to our home here where we live. We know people in this community, so that part was good. "

"My dad is in A Banyan Residence. We chose them because they were just easy to work with. They seem very caring. The transition was fairly simple. They have a game room and bingo; things like that. His apartment is like a suite so he is on one side, and another man is on the other side. They share a bathroom, but it seems like it's nice. We haven't been inside. He said the food is fine. It's expensive; he has only been there for two weeks."

"I toured Elison Assisted Living of Bella Vita. It was very nice and the people were very nice. The staff was excellent. The dining area looks nice. I just like the overall layout of it."

"My parents will be moving into AdviniaCare Venice. As they age they'll be able to go through all of the levels of care at the same place, and that was important to them. I liked that the staff there didn't have a high turnover. They showed us a model room that had 350 square feet with a little kitchenette, two closets, and a bathroom. I actually sat there yesterday filling out my paperwork and watched the residents do trivia, and then there was a scavenger hunt going on while I was sitting in the lobby."

"My sister-in-law moved into The Goldton at Venice. The facility is brand new, beautiful, and clean. Everyone is gracious and kind. So far, we love the place. My sister-in-law is in a one-bedroom apartment. She was able to bring a lot of her own furnishings, so she's surrounded by things she's familiar with. They have a huge saltwater pool, a bar, a very large game room for cards, a salon, and just about everything you'd find similar at a resort. We chose it partially for the location. It's very convenient to the interstate."

"My wife has therapy at Courtyard Assisted Living 3 times a week. They seem to take good care of people there. They give her two meals a day and also coffee sometimes. My wife likes the people there. I would suggest Courtyard to other people. "
