I moved into Elmbrook in June. I love my apartment and it is immaculate. I'm typically a loner and have been most of my life. I've started going to activities recently though and have enjoyed them. Overall I am very happy here.

I recently moved into Elmbrook Village and I love it so far. There have been a few positive things for me so far. The food has been great, the staff and other residents have all been amazing, and the air here is so fresh and clean.

We toured Elmbrook Village. It was beautiful. We didn't tour one of the apartments because we didn't qualify for the price, but when we walked in there, it was so nice. The people were very friendly. They come to the front desk and they talk to you, and it was just a great experience. The staff was very attentive when we walked in. Their furniture was very comfortable.

I visited Elmbrook Village. I like the building. It was new and well-kept. The apartment was lovely. Unfortunately, they told me two days before my uncle was supposed to move that they wouldn't take him. I was unhappy about that. There was a change of director, and no one contacted me. The woman left and I was under the assumption he had a place and then when I called to check, I was told, no, they wouldn't accept him. I like the community, but I didn't have a good experience, just because they threw everything into chaos for us. The facility itself seemed very nice. I would rate the staff low because they did not keep in touch with me and when I finally was able to speak with someone, she was quite abrupt. They had a nice menu. The cleanliness was good. It was friendly and upbeat and the residents all seemed happy. The dining area seemed very nice, but there was a distance my uncle would have had to walk to get to it. The apartment was a nice size with a separate bedroom and a nice little deck where he could sit out and look out onto a saltmarsh. It seemed well-kept.

We liked the size of Elmbrook Village. They got very large apartments in comparison to what's out there. It's like 1200 square feet, so that's lovely. My parents would be in a two-bedroom unit with two full baths and a kitchenette space. We were invited for a meal when we went on the tour and Mom and Dad loved the food. It was great. Everything seemed fresh. They had a chance to talk to the woman in charge of the kitchen and so I felt like the tour was very thorough. Jennifer was also just lovely to talk with. She gave us some great information and the price was wonderful. Their amenities seemed great. They have a gathering five days a week with a glass of wine, like a little cocktail hour kind of thing, and they have some live music. They have a list of activities and their gym area is quite nice. They have a lot of exercise programs my parents would be pretty excited about. They have a professional person trained in that, not just the activities director doing little exercises with you. The front desk girl was very welcoming. The people that were working in the kitchen and working in the dining room were super nice. Everybody was great.

The rooms at Elmbrook Village were fine and the people were friendly. It was clean and modern. They showed us the exercise room and they told us about a painting activity they had, but it was just not going to be a good fit for my aunt. It was a little corporate for us and it was too busy for her, so it was hard for her to engage.

My uncle will be moving into Elmbrook Village within the month. We liked everything about it. We thought it was a perfect place for him. The friendliness of the staff is great. The residents that we met are extremely happy. The dining area and menus are fantastic. It is a beautiful facility. They offer everything that he would be requiring. His apartment is fantastic. It is clean, cheerful, and has an excellent setup. They have a calendar of activities every month. They do arts and crafts, music, and card games. They have laundry services. They'll deliver packages to your room if needed. The whole place is extremely clean.

My mother is at Elmbrook Village. The facility itself is only three years old so it's very clean, it's new, bright, it's accessible and easy off the turnpike, there's also adequate parking. Like other facilities in the current societal times, there's a staffing shortage. Elmbrook, like other places, is hiring warm bodies right out of school, with very little or next to no experience. And sometimes they haven't completed their school, certification, or licensure. There's a pretty significant turnover, they're constantly overworked and underpaid. But I have friends in other facilities in the area, and they're facing the same problem with staffing. The food is okay, it's mediocre. My mom has her food delivered to her room, and the kitchen rarely gets the order right. There are two options for dinner and my mom's pretty picky about what she eats, so more often than not, she'll end up having a sandwich because she doesn't like what's in the kitchen. The kitchen staff has probably turned over four times in the year and three months that mom has been there. But the quality of the food looks pretty good. They have all kinds of activities, they have movies, concerts. They have a pretty wonderful, fully-staffed library, and they have exercises. They have their own little van where they take them out to go shopping and run errands. There's a hair salon on site, doctors come in, podiatrists, and things like that. Their shots, their voting, the residents can do all that there.

My mom is already at Elmbrook Village At Bozrah. It's been very good. It's really friendly. The staff and also the clientele, the people that are living there, are very friendly. The place is only two years old, so everything is brand new. It's clean and it's very nice. From the tour up until the move-in process was very smooth. The person who wrote off her assisted care plan came to the house, and it was very smooth, very nice, and very informative. The food is delicious; I ate lunch and dinner with her on the first day. They have many activities going on there. From 8:00 in the morning until 8:00 in the evening, they have activities going on of all different kinds. My mom's room is set up very nicely. It's one large room that has a kitchenette, a dining area, and a living space. Some of the apartments have a balcony. They show a movie every night, and they have taped concerts like Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett. They have what that age group would relate to. Value for money is a 4 because it's expensive.

Elmbrook Village is a nice community, it's newer, and I like the proximity to my house. It's actually not too far from my parents either. The tour was good too. There was an outdoor area for memory care. It's a walled-in area that has picnic tables, but it has an overhang like an awning that's built into the building. So if it's rainy or snowy out, you're covered. I liked the staff very much. The memory care is in one wing, and it's not too big, so it seems manageable. They have an activity/TV area on one side and the cafeteria on the other side. They were doing music when we visited, so they were trying to get the residents to sing along. The other time I went, they were eating together at tables and in between eating, they seemed to converse to each other as much as they could. I like the width of the rooms. If you have a wheelchair or a walker, it seems like the width of the doorway is better accommodated for that. The facility was newer, it was nice, it seemed clean, and it didn't smell. It was bright, and on the outside it had some color, not just white or gray, so it's more inviting. I like that the menu has certain stuff in case they don't like what the daily menu has. They try to give them something new for the whole facility every day, but when you're in memory care, you have the ability to say that you're not interested in the menu, and you can get a chicken sandwich or a hamburger. They have a choice, so that's nice. I like the location, too, because it's not too far from the highway but also not close to much, so they're not getting distracted if they walk outside.

We toured Elmbrook Village, and it was very good. We did both independent living and assisted living, and both are the same there. The staff was very good. They have restaurants, a meeting room, a movie place and so forth. It was quite homey.

We went to Elmbrook Village. It was a limited contact, but everything was fabulous. It's a beautiful facility, and the people were good. It's one of the places that we're gonna consider as we go forward. It's on the list of possibilities. The rooms were beautiful. Everything was beautiful and brand new. It's an incredible facility. The staff was very helpful, polite, and accommodating. Everybody was good. They did some baked goods for my mother, and everything was great. The outdoor space was very nice.

My father lives in Elmbrook Village. We chose it because they had healthcare aides and RNs on staff, and we wouldn't have to move him as he ages and needs more care. They have several types of rooms. They have rooms that have refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and microwaves for more active people. They have a wonderful dining room. You get meals with your rent, but it's based on the amenities that are in the apartment. For example, if you have stoves you get one meal a day, because it is assumed that you'll be cooking for yourself, and if you just have a microwave and refrigerator, you get more meals per day. The food is excellent, and they have a wonderful chef. They have a chapel, theater, gym, physical therapy room, they have a pub, and they have a meeting rooms available for family events. They have a salon where someone comes in about two days a week, and they have events going on all the time. My father's room is for handicapped residents, and could have been designed a little different. The carpets are too plush inside the rooms, so walkers and wheelchairs are difficult to move, but the staff has been outstanding. They are higher-priced, but someone comes and check on my dad's vital signs every day, sees if he needs assistance in getting dressed, and they change his bed linens.

Elmbrook Village is a very nice place. They have lots of activities. They help remind mom to take her pills, help with her ostomy bag twice a week, with light housework, and they clean her place. She is in a 1-bedroom apartment. They have programs that help strengthen their brains, games, arts, and field trips. They have an exercise room and a library. The food is great.
