Senior Care Reviews on Caring.com Reveal America's Best Assisted Living and Alzheimer's Care Communities
Premier Senior Living Reviews Award Program, "Caring Stars," Now in Fourth Year; Includes 805 Top-Rated Communities, with 33 Honored for Multi-Year Wins
San Mateo, CA; Jan. 13, 2015 – Today 805 assisted living and Alzheimer's care communities across the nation were named the "Caring Stars of 2015," a recognition for service excellence based on online reviews from older adults, family caregivers, and industry experts on Caring.com, a leading senior care website with 2.5 million unique visitors monthly and 70,000 consumer reviews.
The annual Caring Stars list originally launched in January 2012 as the premier senior living reviews award program, helping family caregivers and older adults narrow their senior living options to the best of the best, and quickly find the right assisted living or Alzheimer's care community for aging parents and other loved ones. To further highlight the most-acclaimed assisted living communities, this year Caring.com added a new category of winners, the Caring Super Stars, celebrating 33 communities that have won the award at least three of the years the program has been in place, including two communities that have won every year: Atria Windsor Woods in Hudson, Florida, and Brookdale at San Dimas in San Dimas, CA.
"The Caring Stars award helps signal to the public which communities are successfully delivering on their mission of serving older adults very well, making a positive impact with high-quality care, and reinforcing among their employees the special difference they make in residents' lives," said Caring.com CEO Andy Cohen. "We congratulate every Caring Star for earning this recognition, and thank the families who shared their feedback in reviews on Caring.com."
Any assisted living or Alzheimer's care community listed in the Senior Care Directory on Caring.com is eligible for the Caring Stars award. To be considered for Caring Stars 2015, the community had to: receive at least three new consumer reviews in the last year (including at least one 5-star review); possess a high overall average rating across all reviews on their listing to demonstrate excellence consistency; and have no unresolved negative reviews, to demonstrate responsiveness to critical feedback online.
In researching from among the 31,000 assisted living communities nationwide, Americans are increasingly relying on senior care reviews to guide their senior living inquiries, tours, and move-ins, per data from multiple original market research studies conducted by Caring.com in 2014, as well as insights from Caring.com's online directory and phone-based senior living referral services. And with the rising popularity of social media among Baby Boomers and older adults, the Caring Stars program has grown significantly over the years, from 120 winners in 2012, 383 winners in 2013, and 405 winners in 2014, to the 805 announced today, who are located in 43 states and 323 counties across the country.
