Caring.com Acquires PayingForSeniorCare.com
Acquisition Expands Caring’s Support for Families and Seniors in the Search for Senior Living Communities and In-Home Care Agencies
San Mateo, CA; Dec. 11, 2018 — Caring.com, a leading senior care referral service, announced it acquired the website and business of PayingForSeniorCare.com, a content site that provides financial information and resources for consumers to understand, plan for, and cover the costs of senior care.
“PayingForSeniorCare.com is a well-established, credible source of senior care content, and we’re excited to add this resource to our portfolio of services that support family caregivers and seniors,” said Caring.com CEO, Jim Rosenthal. “This transaction broadens our footprint, enabling us to increase the volume of informed, qualified consumers that we help along with our partners.”
Since its founding in 2007, Caring.com’s mission has been to help family caregivers and older adults make better decisions, save time and money, and feel less alone and less stressed in facing senior care challenges. Applying cutting-edge technology to this mission, Caring.com provides highly relevant senior care content for caregivers and comprehensive senior living and senior care directories for the United States -- with more than 200,000 consumer reviews and a toll-free referral line at (800) 325-8591.
“We created PayingForSeniorCare in 2007 after our personal experiences attempting to navigate the complexities of paying for senior care. We wanted to make the process easier for other families when they find themselves in similar situations,” says Alex Guerrero, director of operations at The American Elder Care Research Organization, which previously owned PayingForSeniorCare. “The origin of our website is similar to that of Caring’s — our own less than desirable experiences led us each to a deep rooted desire to help improve others’ experience. We are thrilled that Caring.com will now take over our passion project.”
“Caring.com is in growth mode, both organically and through acquisitions — we love this industry and are deeply committed to providing services to caregivers and their loved ones,” Rosenthal said. “We look forward to continuing to invest in Caring’s future enabling us to serve an increasing portion of the senior population.”
The terms of the deal are undisclosed. The PayingForSeniorCare.com team will work closely with Caring.com’s leadership to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for caregivers, seniors, and referral partners.
